"It's Ingrid...." I heard her say.
No way. I really can't believe this right now. I never thought in a million years that "she" would call me. What does she want? First of all, who gave her my number? Flynn and Link know that they should never give my number out to anyone unless I say so.
"What do you want?" I sigh rolling my eyes.
"I need you to pick me up at the airport. I'll explain later."
"No, we can talk now."
"Well, you're gonna have to wait till I get back home. I need to get Flynn's car."
"Whatever. And you better be there Ingrid."
"I promise." I hang up the phone slipping it back in my pocket.
"Who was that?" Niall asked.
"I don't have time to explain." I start to run down the ally and the sidewalk back to my condo. I look around and spot Flynn's car just arriving. I stop at the car door waiting for him to get out.
"Hey Andy, what's up?"
"I need to borrow your car," I say out of breath.
"Just bring it back by 11 the latest."
I nod in response and take the keys from his hands. I start the car up and start driving down the street until I see someone stopped in the middle of the road. I push on the break just a few feet way from the person. It was Niall.
"Get out of my way!" I yell out the window.
"I'm going with you." He said coming around to the passengers side.
"Niall, this is really none of your business and I don't need you to come with me." I look at him.
"Well, I have nothing else to do right now."
"Just...get in." I groaned.
I look around trying to find her. Where is she?
"Niall, you stay here in the car, and you better stay inside." I get out of the car walking inside of the airport. I look up at the board with the arrival times. 9:30pm. It's already 10.
"Andy?" I turn around to see a young woman.
She was a bit shorter than me, but with black hair, a thin nose, loads of makeup on her face, well I say it's a lot even though it's really not, and a skinny figure with long legs. She wore a periwinkle shirt with a grey cardigan over it, dark blue jeans, grey slip-ons, and a periwinkle bow on her ponytail to top it off.
"You are?" I asked.
"It's me, Ingrid." She sniffles.
"What happened to you?"
"My boyfriend was cheating on me and he left me with her." She points to a baby carrier on the floor. Underneath all the blankets laid a baby sleeping.
"You have a kid?!"
"I know, I know! I didn't think we were going to have a kid!"
"Well, obviously you did Ingrid!"
"I messed up!" She fell to the ground burying her face in her hands.
"Why'd you call me in the first place?" I sat on the floor next to her.
"My parents kicked me out of the house once the baby bump started to come in, so I moved in with Carter. After I was living with Carter for 2 years, I found out he was messing with another girl."
"Why didn't you call Jake, or Alexis, or Mel, or even Eric?"
"Jake is on his honeymoon, Alexis is with my parents still, Mel didn't answer my calls, and Eric is...dead."
"How'd you find me?"
"Aunt Wilma was drunk and ended up telling me."
"Why'd you call me?"
"I had no one else."
"You know that your parents and Mel's started to ignore my parents when we were teenagers. We got in that big fight and I was never counted in for anything when you and the cousins went out before the fight started! You know how depressed I got?! Seven years I suffered the pain!"
"I'm sorry Andy, but it wasn't my fault."
"Oh, it wasn't my fault I forgot to call you to join us, oh, it wasn't my fault for not talking to you in forever, and it's not my fault I was messing around with Carter! You keep using the same thing! Maybe that's why I never talked to you guys because you all have stupid excuses!"
I feel hands wrap around me as I kept yelling at Ingrid. Boy, it sure felt good to let that all out. I didn't need to keep that in any longer. I turn back to see Niall.
"I told you to wait in the car Niall!"
"What's going on?" He looks at Ingrid.
"It's none of your business. It's my problem and I don't need you to be in it."
"I'm Niall." He introduced himself to Ingrid.
"Ingrid. I'm Andy's cousin."
"Who's that little fella?" He bent down to the sleeping baby.
"Her kid." I murmur.
"Why don't we take Ingrid and her baby home to get some rest?" I get up pulling Niall up away from her.
"You don't know what you just said."
"Yes I did."
"They steal from my family and our friendship with them has fallen apart since I was 11."
"Maybe she's changed."
"Niall, I could see it in her eyes that she hasn't changed at all. My life was ruined because of them too!"
"Just give her a chance."
"Watch, after a couple days she'll be gone with my stuff." I walk back to her and the baby.
"Get up now. Niall and I will get your things while you get the baby." I order her.
She does as she is told and walks behind us to the car. Niall puts her things in the trunk as we got in. We all get buckled up and I start to drive away from the airport.
"Flynn, I'm here." I walk inside with one of Ingrid's bags with Niall behind me with another bag.
"Oh good. I was just about to-" he cuts himself off when he sees Ingrid walk in.
"What is she doing here?"
"I'll tell you later." I roll my eyes.
"Okay, well make yourself at home." He walks out grabbing the keys from my hand.
"I'll see you later, Andy." Niall says hugging me. "Wanna hangout tomorrow?"
"I can't." I point back at Ingrid on the couch.
"Just bring her and the baby with you."
"Okay, but don't complain when your money is out of your bank account." He smiles shaking his head.
"I'll see you tomorrow morning."
"Okay night." I turn back to see Ingrid already asleep with the baby in her arms. I walk up to her tapping her shoulder lightly.
"Go to my bed and sleep." She gets up with the baby walking inside my room. I dress into my sweats and shirt falling asleep on the couch.
