Four months. Wow. It's been so long since I've heard from the boys. Zayn's been sending me some of his graffiti art, but stopped sending them two months ago. Louis never messages me back which I already had a feeling. Niall hasn't text me for the past two and a half months because he has a lot of practices. Harry stopped direct messaging me about a month after he last seen me, so I didn't bother messaging him back. Liam, I never talked to him really.
"Hey Andy, I'm heading out on a date. Link is at some nerdy convention with Jack. I'll see you later!" He walks out closing the door behind him.
Alone in the apartment...this will be great. I walk out to the porch and see the streets empty. No cars and no people. It's spring time, so it rains more often. I walk back in and sit on the couch flipping through the TV. Boring, too educational, too scary, too cute, weird, ew...that's sad. I finally turn to a channel that catches my attention. The boys. I turn up the volume and watch as they talk to the interviewer.
"So boys, are you ready for the 'Where We Are Tour'? Anything exciting?"
"Well, we actually have made a music video for one of our songs," Liam says.
"Oh, which song?"
"It's going to be a surprise, but the fans will love it," Harry says smiling.
"So there was a contest on the radio a few months back..." Oh god.
"So what happened to the winner? Paparazzi and fans have got photos of Niall and Harry with the winner hanging out at Starbucks and the ice rink...was there anything between you, Harry or Niall with her?"
"Who are you talking about?" Harry raises his eyebrow at her. My mouth literally drops to the floor.
Who are you talking about? It kept repeating in my head. I open my phone to twitter and read the first message I had gotten from Harry before they left.
Had loads of fun, Andy. Won't forget the day we had, and especially you. -Harry
He forgot about me. Not only him, but the rest of them did. It's only been four months and they forgot about me. Well, it's understandable I guess because I wasn't a fan of them still.
I knew they were going to forget me. No one cares for me like my family. I'm not important and it's not like I care. Now that the interviewer talked about me, fans and shows are now talking about me hanging out with them four months ago.
"I'm sorry, but I don't know who you're talking about," Harry says.
"Don't you remember?" The interviewer holds up an old magazine with a front cover of Harry and I ice skating titled, "Is Harry dating again?"
"That must be photoshopped or something." Liam points at it.
"No, it's clear that it's real because fans also got video of it." They start to play the video in the background.
"That's not me." Harry lets out a chuckle smiling.
"Well, that's all the time we have now everyone! See tomorrow!" The screen immediately changes to a reality show.
They forgot me.
Get over it Andy! It's not like you really liked hanging out with them! They treated you nice because they didn't want hurtful comments from you, but look what happened between you and Liam. You both fought when you first seen him. My conscious says.
"Shut up!" I yell covering my ears.
Harry was doing it for publicity while you both were out at the ice rink. They only did it for the fame, Andy. To get more noticed, not because they thought you were fun to hangout with.
"Why am I fighting with myself if I know it's true? They probably were doing it for publicity. My conscious is right," I say to myself.
Management did it. They wanted the boys to get more noticed to get the money. It's the boys and their faults. It's Flynn's fault. He wanted you to call the radio station and win the prize. He new you would win a week to spend time with them. He pranked you.
"No, no, no, no, no! Flynn didn't know! He just wanted to see if I'd get the answer right! It's not his fault!" I crouch on the floor burying my head in my knees.
"Andy! What's wrong?!" I look up to see Flynn walk in the door. I stand to my feet pushing him out of my way as I ran out.
I ignore him and run down the streets of London. I deserved this. I'm always mean to people, but that's how I am. I defend myself even though their nice to me. I knew they were going to forget me. Everyone does.
I finally manage to stop at a park bench in the middle of the park. I lay on the bench plugging earbuds into my ears playing some random songs on my phone as I just looked straight at the floor. I take off my jacket and put it under my head as a pillow.
I look up and see a lady dressed in baggy torn up clothes holding a cup out to me. I sit up and search around for some change in my pockets. I take out a paper from my pocket and look to see that it's a twenty dollar bill in U.S. money. How did I get this? I hand it to her as she thanks me.
"Say, you look familiar my dear." I look at her confused.
"Yeah, you're that girl from the magazine four months ago that's coming back again. Were you famous?"
"No, no, I was never famous. I...it was just a mistake."
"Oh well, you were with one of those famous boys from the boy band. Am I right?" She sits down next to me.
"I was with him, but not on a date or anything. It was a rumor."
"What about page thirty-two?"
"Page thirty-two? What's on that page?" She takes out the magazine from her bag and unfolds it.
"Look here. On page thirty-one, that's another boy from the band with you at Starbucks surrounded by girls. Niall I think it is, right?" She looks at me as I nod not saying anything.
"Well, on page thirty-two it shows Niall and you kissing in his car."
I freeze at the sight of the picture. That's not true. I didn't kiss him, I just put my forehead against his to make him talk up. They photoshopped it. "That's not real. It's photoshopped."
"Well it seems pretty real when you look at it."
"People are that good at photoshopping things."
"Well, I must be going now..."
"Andy." I stick my hand out to her as I shake hers.
"Andy. I'm Betsy." She stands up and walks away with her things in her hands.
I lay back down in the same position and just close my eyes. I hate the paps, the crazy fans, the boys, my...family. I don't need any of them.
