She knew she was dying. But that didn’t stop her from doing a single thing. The cancer was in her liver. She’d been told she had just over two months to live. She knew what the last thing she had to do was; teach him to love a girl right.
He was the typical bad boy. He played with girls’ hearts. And no matter what, doesn’t fall in love.
“Mom, why are you making me do this? I didn’t do anything this time!” I screamed at her. The woman was driving me nuts.
“You will help me at the office, Gabriel Alex Winters. You will visit the radiation treatment rooms and you will talk to them. You will make them feel less anxious and you will NOT disrespect any of them. Otherwise, your windows will be locked, you will have no laptop, phone, TV, or car for two months. This experience will make you appreciate the life you have, and that is final.”

I knew I couldn’t get out of what was coming for me though. However, I also knew how to manipulate the rules she set.
I couldn’t disrespect the patients, but see, she never said I had to be nice to them. And so, the miserable summer began.
