Wrecking Ball

Mercedes was ready to start her new school, she was ready for it to be cliche and normal but that was far from what she got.

6. doing the total opposite

Well Sarah is god no's where so right now I'm missing the other half of this genius operation :( #no author is complete without her author (*editor :) )

##############################################################################

I walked past my mom as she cleaned the last dish. "Dear I've been hearing this stuff."

I looked up from my phone. "What?" She sighed. "Its nice of you but hanging out with the wrong people is not good."

I groaned. "Mom, Harry is a good person. Besides I'm dating Louis."

She nodded. "I know and he's a good kid, it's Harry." I rolled my eyes. "Harry is a good singer he can cook and is excellent in math."

She sighed. "What ever you say dear, you know him better than I do." I nodded.

******

"Mercedes, can you please come to my desk?" Ms. macill shouted. I groaned and stood up, pulling up my jeans. "

Yes?" I said she handed me my most recent math test, it had a big fat red 50% written on it. I frowned. "Harry would you please come up here." She shouted and Harry joined my side. I was awkwardly stiff.

"Harry I'm sure you know, Mercedes."

He scoffed, "hardly." I turned to him and scowled. "Well get to know her because I do not want any of my students failing, Harry made a hundred on his math test, he is an excellent person to follow when it comes to math. So he will be tutoring you. Now go away from my desk." My jaw dropped but then turned into a smirk. Harry couldn't push me away that easy.

I was walking my way to my next class when I heard two familiar voices. I stopped where I was and slowly peered around the corner. Harry and Louis were talking to each other. I decided to stay where I was and eves drop.

"what's a matter Styles did she not accept you, hm? She pushed you away like all the others."

"No she didn't but I'm sure she would as soon as she finds you're just the same as me. Don't forget that Louis you're a monster too, just like me." I then heard a slam. "Listen I am nothing like you do you understand that."

Harry chuckled. "Oh I know I'm good and you're completely evil." I heard footsteps coming my way so I ran quickly ran up the stairs. Louis was a monster too? Does that mean he's a- "yes he's a vampire too." I jumped to see Harry.

"How are you reading my mind?" He shrugged, "easily."

"Can you read others?" He shook his head. "Only yours." I nodded.

"He's not as safe as you think Mercedes. I'm not stopping you from being with him just watch out." He started to walk away but I grabbed his arm.

"It's okay Harry, I trust you." He gave a weak smile. "So what else can you do?"

He shrugged. "Run fast, dee in the dark, I have really good hearing and seeing and of course smell. I don't get hurt, unless its wood." I gasped. "So that explains the broken spoon."

He chuckled. "Yeah that was stupid."

"So the sun?"

"Well the sun doesn't bother me, my family goes to the beach all the time, the sun does hurt my eyes though."

"So who's this family?" Sadness washed over his face. "Well my real family is all dead, of course but my current mom is a vampire too, she found me and helped me and has turned into a mother like figure to me over the years."

I smiled. "We don't have to go to home ec." I smiled. "I was hoping you'd say that." He nodded as he took my hand. "I know."

Hopping on the back of Harry's motorcycle felt normal, like I was a whole again. I liked that feeling very much. "Thank you for waiting," I said against his back.

"Its okay I trusted you." I smiled and laid my head on his back breathing in the nice Summerville air.

I hadn't realized we were done driving until Harry gently pried my arms off his torso. I was immediately blasted by a cold wind and I squeezed my arms tighter. "God it is cold."

Harry chuckled. "Here take my jacket." I shook my head. "You need it." He still placed his jacket on my shoulder.

"I can't feel temperature I only wear it to look normal." Well wasn't I just an idiot.

"No you're not. you're very smart." I scoffed. "Okay math study buddy tutor and how does this reading thoughts thing work?"

He leaned up against the tree. "Well when I'm with you, like I am now, your thoughts just float into my mind, like a river. Not all of them just snippets of what you're mainly thinking about. But when your far away I have to search and it takes energy. If you don't want me to know your thought I'll find someway to stop it." I shook my head lightly. "It's fine it's more your loss hearing my thoughts."

He chuckled. "Come on let's go in." I was about to ask where when I looked behind me. There was a small lovely house, it was obviously or well looked like wood, a quaint cabin. "Why do you live in a house made of wood, mister vampire?"

He laughed. "Its not wood, it's like plastic stuff, we've got to look normal right." He opened the door. I wasn't surprised by the interior, normal everyday furniture. There was a fire going and it was actually warm in the house compared to the cold fall temperatures outside. "Daisy I'm home, and guess who I brought." Harry shouted. I watched as a feminine figure walked down the steps, she had long and I mean long silky straight black hair, she was extremely beautiful.

The only thing that showed age was a single strand of silver in her hair. Other than that she didn't look a day older than 25. "You must be Mercedes." She eyed me suspiciously. Then her face lit up and she pulled me in to an unexpected hug. After she let go of me she stepped back.

"I'm Vivian." A lovely name to match her loveliness. "Well um if it's to cold in here I'll Turn the heater up." I shook my head. "No it's fine, it's just right." Harry lead me up the stairs.

"So this is your room?" His room was smaller than mine but it was simple. Green sheets and a blue duvet. Then he had a desk and a normal computer on it. A television sat directly across from the bed and a small triangular window was in the left corner, blue curtains covering it.

"Yeah sorry it's not much."

I chuckled. "So let me guess, if I open your closet a coffin will be there." He displayed and emotion that was rare. Offense. I immediately started apologizing.

"No it's fine I should expect that." I sat down on the corner if his bed as he sat down at the top. "My mom doesn't think it's best I hang out with you. I'm sure everyone else would say the same." He nodded. "and look who's doing the total opposite."
