I'm going to kill whoever did that, thought Severus angrily. Angrily, he stomped on the floor....and his foot connected with another.
"Sorry," muttered Severus.
"It's quite all right," said the girl.
Severus looked up. The girl had dark curly brown hair and big brown eyes. She wore a black dress, black leggings, a Ravenclaw scarf and black shoes.
"Who's funeral?" asked Severus, his tone obviously bored.
The girl stared for a moment, then burst out laughing. "You're funny! Aren't you Lily's friend? I'm Summer Diggory," she smiled.
Severus winced. "Yeah, I'm-I'm her friend," he managed, wincing.
"So...what's up?" said Summer, looping her arm through his and smiling at him.
"Nothing," Severus muttered through gritted teeth.
"That's cool," said Summer cheerfully. "So, what kind of things do boys like?" she asked Severus, who ignored her.
"Hey, c'mon! There's a guy I like!" said Summer.
"Who?" asked Severus, figuring she wouldn't shut up till he asked.
"Sirius Black," whispered Summer, giggling.
Severus pulled away. "THAT git? Meh. You deserve him."
And with that, Severus stormed off.
"Well, then," muttered Summer. "I'm guessing that wasn't a compliment. GET BACK HERE, YOU UGLY-"
"I can't BELIEVE him," I muttered. "I seriously can't believe him! First some water falls on my head, which I bet Severus did, then he calls me an 'idiot', then he has the nerve to say I'm overreacting, the little-" I shook my head angrily, causing drops of water to fall out. I clenched my teeth angrily.
I walked downstairs in my hogwarts uniform (Hey, I felt comfier in it!) and a red skirt.
Potter strode up to me, and I punched him in the face.
He staggered. "ARGH!!! EVANS!!!"
"Leave. Me. Alone," I said dangerously. "Go play with your bum boys, or something."
"Marauders," Potter muttered, clutching his face.
I waved a dismissive hand. "WHATever! They ACT like bum boys!" I sighed. "So, are you planning to go away and leave me alone?" I asked hopefully.
"Maybe," he smirked, doing a bit of magic to clear up the blood on his face.
"Please do," I said. I walked away.
"Well, then," I heard him say.
I walked outside and spotted Summer chasing Severus. "SUMMER!!! SUUUMMER, STOP IT!" I shouted, running after Summer, who turned. "He-he insulted me! He said I deserved to be with Sirius!" She paused a moment. "Wait, is that an insult?"
"No," I explained patiently extremely impatiently. Well, I was pretty sure Severus had meant it as one, but I decided to keep that to myself. "So, will you STOP chasing him? It's getting on my nerves," I complained.
"Fine," grumbled Summer.
I walked up to Severus. "Are you okay?"
He nodded, wide eyed. "Your friend is crazy," he said.
"Well, you did insult her," I pointed out.
"Yes, I did," he agreed, looking proud of himself.
I sighed. "So, Sev, why did you call me an idiot?"
"I wasn't talking to you," he said. "I DIDN'T call you an idiot. Someone had poured water on my head...I was calling THEM an idiot."
I suddenly felt extremely stupid. "Oh," I said quietly. "Sorry."
He laughed bitterly. "Thanks. Sorry covers it, doesn't it?" he added sarcastically.
I snapped then. Maybe I was thinking of how selfish he was being or how annoyed I was, but I called him "a lying, unforgiving rat."
"Hey!" he said, surprised. And then he did what I expected him to do LEAST.
"That wasn't supposed to be funny," I grumbled, still annoyed.
"Well, it was," he said. "Come on, Lily, let's go back to the castle."
I nodded, and together we walked to the castle.
Potter was waiting. He had a shocked, even crazy, expression on his face. He lunged at Severus.
"POTTER!" I chided angrily.
"What?" he said, breathing heavily as he glowered at poor Sev.
"Don't DO that to Severus!" I said, pulling Sev back.
"He's being a git," Potter said. "A GIT."
"No, he isn't. He did nothing to you," I pointed out.
"The little wanker doesn't have to-"
"He. Did. Nothing. To. You," I growled.
Potter stepped back. "Yes ma'am!"
"Good," I said sweetly, and I dragged Severus off to somewhere that was NOT near Potter.
