2. The letter and the bracelet
Hermione got up. Her alarm clock said 6:45. 20 minutes until breakfast! She rushed out of bed and quickly got dressed. She put on her lucky charm bracelet from Ron, and ran into the Gryffindor common room.
"Hey! 'Mione! Where are you goin' so early?" Claire, a girl she had become good friends with, called after her.
"Sorry, Claire! I have to go somewhere urgent! I'll see you at breakfast!" She replied as she ran out of the fat lady portrait.
Down the hallway, past the dining hall, and straight into the owls' home. Her new owl, Jinxer, was expecting her. Her quill moved quickly as she wrote:
Dear Harry and Ron,
I miss you both so much, but this is urgent! I need to speak with you, soon. I'm sorry. It's very important, or else I wouldn't ask. I wish I could tell you now, but the Ministry is still being corrupted. War doesn't change everything. I'd like to speak in private somewhere. If you'd kindly meet me at Grimmauld Place in 2 days time, we can talk there.
Love, care, and concern,
Hermione's heart raced as she stuffed the letter in an envelope. Hastily, she handed it to Jinxer and hurried to breakfast.
When she arrived at breakfast, her friends, Claire, James, Tom, and Sammy, were waiting for her. She grabbed a roll out of the bowl in front of her and ate it quickly. She was starved. Claire watched her eat her roll and noticed a small tear trickling down her cheek and falling onto her robe.
"Are you alright?" Claire asked comfortingly.
"I'm fine, Claire. It's Ron and Harry I'm worried about. She looked at her charm bracelet. Several charms were dangling off of it. A wand, a time turner, a photo of her and Ron, a photo of Harry and Ginny, a photo of Neville and Luna, and a heart charm. Another tear fell.
