Harry crept up the stairs to the girls' dormitory with Ron. Slowly they walked into Hermione's room.
"Hermione? Wake up. We've come to get you." Ron whispered.
"Oh! Ron, Harry! Hey! By the way, Ron, you are a horrible whisperer." Hermione said, waking up. "You aren't supposed to be up here."
"We are mature adults now." Harry stated.
"Ya. Really mature," Hermione said sarcastically.
"Can we meet this James guy?" Ron asked impatiently.
"Let me put reasonable clothes on, Ron." Hermione groaned. She didn't want to get up so early on break.
Once she was dressed, she met them in the common room. Giving Ron a huge hug and Harry an equally large one, she told them they have to see James before they leave.
Harry said they would of course.
Rushing to get her bags, she also remembered that she needed to grab Jinxer. She ran back downstairs with her two bags. Ron took one and Harry took the other. They agreed to meet her at the hospital wing.
Hermione ran at a dead sprint down the hallway. When she got to the owlry, She put Jinxer in his cage , and more carefully, ran to the hospital wing.
When she got there, a nurse was telling Harry and Ron about huge numbers of petrified students piling in this week. Harry looked genuinely concerned, but Ron looked bored but pitying the petrified students.
"Hermione, you make speak to James. His memory is starting to come back." The nurse told her.
"Oh thank you!" She cried and ran over to his bed. "Hey, James!"
"Uh… hi" was his reply.
"I'm leaving for Christmas break. Ill be back soon. I promise." She pulled him into a gentle, but firm, hug. "Goodbye, James!" She called as she walked out of the hospital wing.
"Goodbye…whoever you are…" he said kind of sadly and to himself so she couldn't hear that last part. "Goodbye."
