Harry, as promised, took Hermione to the library so they could research magical lightning, petrification, and petrifying jinxes. They looked at books for hours. Hermione read book after book. Harry read quite a few as well. Hermione was on her 18th chapter book on pertrification and jinxes that can petrify.
"Hermione, we've got to go home for dinner."
"Just one more minute, Harry! I think I found something!" She replied excitedly. "Here it says: in the first rise to power of the dark side, death-eaters were known to jinx lightning and plants to petrify, stupify, and obliviate witches and wizards. There was no exact remedy to this problem and eventually the attacks of such lightning and plants died out. There was a professor named Alasent Dredorn. He was pretty far in the process of making a solution and potion to reverse the petrifiation and obliviation. Unfortunately, he died before he could put the final touches on his medicine. The recipe was lost. No one found his secret hiding place. It is said, 'only powerful wizards and witches can access the secret', but since the attacks stopped, very few people tried to find it."
"No way!" Harry exclaimed in disbelief, "We have to get home now, but you don't have to go back to school for a while. We could start working on a plan or get more research as soon as tomorrow!"
"I can't wait to write James!" Hermione was very excited. "The nurse replied to my last letter and said he's much better and remembers me and some of our other friends. He doesn't remember his parents, though. And others are less fortunate than him, with little or no memory of their past."
"We'll help. I promise." Harry replied. Even though Hermione was older than him, he had taken on the role of an older brother to Hermione.
"Thanks, Harry." She said as they started to apparate home.
