10. As long as we're around
Ginny walked up to a melancholy Harry. She sat down next to him and put her hands on his. She gave him a tissue and a hug.
"Harry, are you okay?" She asked.
"I'm fine, but Hermione's friend, James, isn't. He was petrified and lost his memory. It was the death-eaters. Hermione said they were after us, but they aren't. They are going after Hogwarts. Petrifying children and causing them to lose their memory was clever. Now the children won't know any spells and be defenseless. If Hermione's not there… they'll strike over break." Harry explained to his red-haired, gentle, comforting, girlfriend.
"We'll help. We will protect the castle if it needs us." She replied.
"How will we know when that happens? I don't have connections to the dark side anymore - thank god. It's painful. Being someone's horcrux and all. Seeing through someone else's eyes. Being manipulated like that. Not fun at all." Harry said.
"Trust me. We'll know. Did you forget about the spells set on Hermione's charm bracelet? It tells her when we are in danger, but it also tells her when Hogwarts is in danger." Ginny reminded him.
"So Hogwarts is safe?" He asked.
"As long as we're around." She confirmed.
