Hi everyone! This is my first movella and indeed my first Loki fanfiction, however I have been writing on FanFiction.net for a good two years, so writing is a strong hobby for me. I hope you enjoy this, I'm really enjoying writing it XD
The dark New York skies rarely become cluttered with stars, but on the night of the eighteenth of December, they were beautiful. A young man was walking down the empty pathways, struggling to stay standing due to exhaustion and eventually collapsing to the floor.
A woman of around twenty three was walking towards him. When she reached him, she stopped.
"I know who you are," she commented, unhelpfully. The man looked up and snorted, unamused.
"I should call the cops," she continued. He shrugged.
"Loki," he muttered, introducing himself regardless of what she had previously said after realising she was not planning to leave.
"I know." She sat down next to him. "I'm... Scarlett." Silence.
"I heard you were a tyrannical criminal." Loki said nothing. The woman tried again.
"...A really powerful god." At this he looked up.
"To some, perhaps." Scarlett pulled her coat around her and just sat, thinking hard. This man was in a bad way. He didn't seem to be too dangerous, but he also didn't exactly seem too innocent. She was getting cold, so she quickly made a decision and stood up.
"Come home with me," she ordered. Loki just looked at her.
"I'll help you."
"You need help, I have a spare room, we're all good. Just an offer."
"I... I would like that." Loki stood slowly, shakily and confused beyond belief. Why was this girl helping him? He didn't deserve her help.
"My car's around the corner. Can you make it or...?" Loki nodded. She smiled.
"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, Prince Loki," Scarlet joked, bowing. Loki smirked.
"You needn't bow to me."
"I thought you were into the whole rulership deal?"
"Maybe not anymore."
They started to walk down the street.
"I've made a mistake, and I wish to reverse it. But now I have enemies in every realm. I will not be welcome anywhere after what I've done." Scarlett scoffed.
"You're welcome in my house, and I know that your brother will jump to forgive you."
The girl stopped talking. Then thought of something.
"I hope you don't mind messy flats, cos that's what mine is."
"It does not affect me."
"Good! Oh, and are you allergic to cats?"
"What are cats?"
"I guess we will have to find that out the hard way..." She muttered.
"Why are you doing this? I am a criminal, dangerous and cruel."
"Hey, you're alright. I reckon you just need some TLC."
"What is that?"
They drove for about an hour before Scarlett pulled over to a block of flats. She parked up and started searching the car for her keys. She eventually found them on the floor.
The flat was big but not luxurious. It was messy, indeed but it was homely and comfortable. Loki's eyes immediately went to the huge worn out sofa. Scarlett laughed beside him and told him to relax while she sorts out the spare room.
Loki did, and instantly fell asleep.
