"Here, go and change into these. I think they'll fit. If not I can just stuck them in the tumble dryer to shrink them down." Loki looked at the bundle in her arms quizzically and then took them to his room to try on.
Scarlett threw herself onto the sofa and flicked on the TV, watching some CSI programme. Wrapping her dressing gown around her even tighter, she snuggled up and watched it with intense interest.
Then Loki entered. He was wearing dark green checkered trousers that fit him perfectly and a baggy brown T-shirt with a pocket at the top. His black dressing gown was draped over his arm.
"I'm afraid this garment confuses me," Loki muttered. She smiled up at him. Scarlett stood and untied her dressing gown.
"Here, just do as I do." A few moments later both were done up in fluffy dressing gowns and sitting down on the sofa watching CSI.
"So you're really Loki, then," Scarlett started.
"That's cool. And you're really a god?"
"Can you do magic?"
Loki laughed. "Yes."
"What would you like me to do?"
"Um... Clean the kitchen." Loki grinned and did so, leaving the room sparkling and clear of rubbish. Scarlett laughed and clapped her hands as the man next to her bowed, smirking.
"Do something else!" Loki shook his head.
"You have to tell me something."
"Anything about you."
"Er... Well, I don't really have anything to say. Well, I'm a born and bred New Yorker, and I used to live here with my boyfriend, Daniel. He um... Well, let's just say it's good he left." Loki listened and picked out the details he wished to investigate: where she worked, her boyfriend and her name.
"You're missing out details. What's your name? I am Loki of Asgard and you are..."
"My name's Scarlett."
"It's not though, is it? I can see the face of a liar and you are lying to me... Why?" Loki spoke gently and quietly, asking her to open up to him.
"I don't really fit with my name."
Loki knew to stop asking, so he did. He just nodded and turned his attention back onto the television.
"Colette," she muttered. He turned to look at her and nodded, smiling.
"Pretty," he complimented. Scarlett just smirked.
"I'm not too fond of it. It's too flowery. So I stick with Scarlett. Have done ever since high school." Loki nodded.
"So you would prefer to be called...?"
"And seeing as I'm changing my name, would you like to?"
"What name would I chose?"
"I think Handsome works well."
The woman laughed, "I am not going to call you Handsome!" Loki started to laugh too. Then he pretended to be very sad and said, "Am I not handsome, then?"
"Oh no, no you are-" Scarlett said before she even realised what she was saying. "You are."
Loki smiled. "Well, perhaps I should just stay with my current identity."
They both laughed and Scarlett agreed that would be best. She changed the channel on the TV for some film and that was how they spent the day. Laughing, chatting, watching TV and only moving to get food or use the toilet. Loki had never had a day like it, and he enjoyed it ridiculously.
