For the next few months Georgina and Lauren would meet up at the weekend or during a free period to hang out in the Room of Requirement.
As it was Christmas Eve, it was Georgina’s turn to pick the location. She’d had thought long and hard about this for a while but had picked the perfect place. As she stood in front of the wall, Georgina repeated the words ‘Winter Wonderland’ in her head. Then the door appeared. The two friends opened it to snow covered haven with sparkly icicles hanging from tree branches.
Luckily Georgina had gotten Lauren to dress appropriately for they would have frozen solid. “Oh, Georgina, it’s beautiful.” Lauren gasped. Then Georgina spotted a frozen pond with two pairs of ice skates sitting by it. “Want to go ice skating?” she asked playfully. Lauren nodded with glee and the two skipped over to the frozen pond. After lacing up their skates both, Lauren and Georgina, slid onto the ice hanging onto one another.
Once they’d both got the hang of it, they glided along the ice like swans. Lauren added in some leaps and twirls as Georgina made figures of eight. Then the two decided to do something special. Georgina went first marking her name in the ice. Then Lauren did the same. It was lucky Georgina had a camera or it would just be a memory melting in the back of her mind.
After the photo was taken, the girls hugged each other. “Merry Christmas, Lauren.” Georgina whispered. “Merry Christmas, Georgina,” Lauren replied “And thank you for this wonderful experience. I’m happy we are friends.” Then one of the walls of the Room of Requirement exploded, knock Lauren and Georgina off of their feet. It was Talia Knight. Someone must have snitched on them.
“I warned you, Georgina Bradley!” She screeched as she raised her wand. “No, leave her along!” Shouted Lauren “It was my idea not Georgina’s. But one should have to listen to you. Hardly anyone likes you.”
“Shut it, Lauren!” Talia raised her voice “Now if you walk away and pretend this didn’t happen I won’t blame this on you. But if you don’t, it’s of to Professor McGonagall’s office for you.” This was aimed at Georgina.
It was safer to walk away but she didn’t want to leave Lauren. “Go on, I’ll be fine.” Lauren whispered. So Georgina walked away. She looked back just as Talia was dragging Lauren back to the Slytherin Dungeon. It wasn’t mean to be this way. But she had still got the picture of their names in the ice. Georgina looked at it, then ran back to Gryffindor Tower in tears.
