As Georgina sat down at the Gryffindor table for the first time she felt several hands pat her back. She was proud to be from a long line of Gryffindor students including her mother, Laura Bradley (even though she was a muggle-born) and her father, Adam Bradley.
Then a girl with straight onyx black hair came and sat next to her. “Hi, I’m Isabelle Ellwood, but you can call me Izzy.” The girl smiled in a friendly manner. “Nice to meet you, Izzy,” Georgina replied “I’m Georgina Bradley.”
“Do you mind if I call you, Georgie?” Izzy asked politely. Georgina shrugged “Sure, why not.” The two girls talked until the all of the first year students had been sorted into their houses.
Once Professor McGonagall said a few words, food appeared on the table. This amazed Georgina. She’d never seen so much food in her life. The most she had seen was at Christmas at her Nana Edith’s. She’d cook loads to feed her, her parents, her aunt and her two cousins, Jemima and Oscar. But this was way more than that. Feeling like she hadn’t eaten in weeks, Georgina piled her place with chicken, potatoes and other garnishes topped of with a drizzle of gravy.
After the feast Georgina felt stuffed and she, Izzy and the other first years followed the Gryffindor prefect, Fallon Goldspink, to the common room. It was warm and welcoming. There were red velvet armchairs and a sofa sitting facing the toasty glowing fire. Georgina bounced onto the sofa and warmed her hands by the fire. There she was joined by Izzy, a light brown haired girl and a girl with ginger hair.
“Hello,” smiled the light brown haired girl “I’m Sheryl Fletcher, and this is Annie Tobin.” The ginger haired girl, now known as Annie, grinned shyly. “Nice to meet you,” Izzy replied, “I’m Izzy Ellwood and this is Georgina Bradley.”
“Hi.” Georgina said in a friendly manner. The girls chattered for a while by the fire then went up to the dormitory where a girl with messy dirty blonde hair sat on one of five four poster beds with a book in her hand.
“Oh, hello,” She said putting her book down “I’m Anaïs Jenkins.”
Georgina and the rest of the girls also said hi and introduced them selves. So all of the roommates started chattering about lessons and Sheryl and Anaïs started talking about how attractive to Head Boy, Stephen Lawrence, was. After a while the girls all went to bed. But Georgina sat up and looked out the window. The moon was shining brightly like mother nature’s electric torch.
Georgina smiled then settled down and went to sleep.
