I remember lying in tangled, crisp sheets, staring up at the ceiling and smiling to myself as I felt a warm arm slide around my waist.
"You alright?" Ben grinned down at me.
"Yep, I'm great" I breathed, calming myself and sitting up in the bed.
"Where are you going? " Ben asked.
"I need to go and check if Ambers okay, will you come with me?"
"Yeah, but I think we better get dressed first" Ben replied.
We stumbled around picking our clothes off the floor and started making our way down the stairs, where the party was continuing. Once I was on the bottom step I glanced around, trying to spot Amber. Instead I saw the guy she was kissing before, and decided to go and ask him if he'd seen her.
"Hey" I said cheerfully over the boom of the music.
"Do I know you?" He sneered.
"Erm, well I saw you with my friend earlier;Amber. Do you know where she went?"
"That slapper? She went off, I dunno where" He turned his back to me and started chatting to a group of already-drunk students.
"He wasn't very helpful" Ben said, following behind me.
"I know. I guess we'll have to find her ourselves"
Half an hour later we still hadn't found Amber, and I started getting worried. I fiddled in my bag and took out my phone, searching my contacts for Amber's number. It rang for what seemed like ages. She wasn't picking up.
"Don't worry" Ben put a reassuring arm around me, "She'll probably be with some guy"
"Yeah, maybe" I replied.
But in the back of my mind played loads of visions of bad things that could happen to her, and I felt really uncomfortable.
"I'm gonna look round and see if I can find her" I told Ben," Stay here, I'll be okay"
"Be careful, and call me if you need anything" Ben pulled out a sticky note from the worktop in the kitchen and scribbled down his number with a pen. I pocketed the note and stepped out into the garden, desperately hoping I'd find Amber there.
