7. Chapter Seven

I put my earphones in and pressed play on one of the many random playlists on my phone and I was soon listening to the beat of "A Love Like War" by All Time Low.

The city was deserted except for a few drunks who hadn't found their way back home yet. I admired the trees lit up with Christmas lights and the different ornaments hung in every shop window.

The sky was a dark blue with a hint of red and orange and there was a pleasant wind blowing in between the trees.

As I was walking past a bus-stop I noticed a familiar figure leaning up against the back glass wall. I had almost forgotten about him until I noticed him then and there. I debated with myself whether or not I should check if he's ok, passed out or just waiting for the next bus that leaves in... 2 hours!? My god, I love the fact that I live in the city and don't have to take a bus or a train to get home.

I decided against my better judgement and my own willing to go see if he was ok. My feet started moving towards him and I regretted the decision I had just made but I couldn't get my feet to walk the other way.

I stood there for a little bit admiring his beauty and his strong features. He had a strong jaw line with a hint if stubble on his chin and cheeks. His cheeks were flushed by all means, probably because of the cold temperature. His slightly curly hair stood out from beneath the hood of his sweater and his toned arms were crossed across his toned chest.

"Hey Ashton." I said slowly shaking his upper arm. No response. "Ashton, are you ok?" Still no response. I started to get a little worried. I shook him harder and raised my voice. "Ashton! Wake up, buddy!" And then he moved. I released a breath that I hadn't realized I had been holding and smiled as he came to his senses.

He let out a few huffs and puffs until he recognized me from McGraw.

"Charlie." He said and paused with a smile on his face as he sat up straight on the bench. "What are you doing here?"

"I was walking home when I noticed you lying there and I just wanted to make sure you were alright." I sat down next to him on the bench looking between him and the ground. "Why were you sleeping here anyway?" I then asked and looked him in the eyes waiting for a response.

"I... Uhm..." He started and ran his hand through his hair nervously. "Well..." He fiddled with his hands and then he looked at me, a smirk appearing on his face. "That's not important. Where do you live?" He then asked quickly changing the subject.

"Uhm, just about ten minutes up that road." I said and pointed to the direction where my apartment was. It wasn't like me to tell a stranger where I lives but there was something about Ashton that made me believe that he wasn't a bad guy even though I knew nothing about him.

"Can I walk you home then?" He asked and stood up from the bench extending his arm to pull me up.

"Yeah, sure. Why not?" I said and took his hand. He pulled me up and I almost fell over from his strength. Wow, I would love to see him without a shirt on. I thought to myself. I quickly shook the thought and started leading him in the right direction.
