How It All Began

Lauren was just a normal girl who lived in a normal city. Then, one day her mom entered her into this website contest to get One Direction tickets in Los Angeles.
I know what you are thinking.
"UGH, really another one of these stories!" But I am asking if you could please read it and give me feedback? No one ever said she won them. No ever said she lost them.

5. Maybe? Just Maybe

A/N Hey everybody again! Finally, it's winter break! YEAH! I am going to try to update more chapters from now on! Also, thank you so much for people who commented! I really like to hear comments or corrections. THANK YOU! So that's everything I guess and here is the next chapter!

Chapter 5- Maybe? Just Maybe

Dad's POV

Am I seriously listening to this? My seventeen year old daughter wants to go to Los Angeles by herself to go see a bunch of "gay blades" jump around a stage for a couple of hours. Unbelievable. I know she is "obsessed" with them but I am not allowing this. Never in a million years.

"Honey, what should we do about this," my wife, Heather, questioned.

"I honestly don't know," I replied rubbing my eyes.

I guess Lauren really did win those tickets. UGH I don't want to think about this right now. I had a really long day at work today, so all I want to do right now is go lay down and take a nap.

"Maybe, we should try and look at plane tickets first," she said.

I asked with disbelief, "Your actually thinking of considering this?"

"Well, she is almost eighteen. Pretty soon she will be heading off to college," she said.

I know we should let Lauren experience taking care of herself because soon she will be living on her own. But really Los Angeles? I don't know?

"But, this is Los Angeles we are talking about," I state, "what about all the traffic and cars and not to mention the people who live there."

You don't want to be driving in L.A. They are crazy drivers out there, trust me, I have been there many times before.

"I know, I don't know what to do, they can't hold those concert tickets for us forever and we need to book a hotel or plane tickets pretty soon," Heather said.

I pondered over this statement then replied,"How about we give Lauren one or two more days to show us she deserves to go and see if she is responsible of taking care of herself on her own?"

"Ok, then I guess we can start off with that," Heather agreed, "also, sorry for bothering you with this, babe. I know you don't want to come home from work to deal with this."

"It's all right, we need to work this out and the sooner, the better," I said.

"I know. I feel like Lauren will be really disappointed if we don't even consider this," she said.

I agree. One part of mind was screaming NO this is a bad idea but another part was nagging me and telling me you can't kept Lauren with you forever, she needs to experience something like this. For all I know, she might get a scholarship in California for college and want to move there. It is her last year in high school.

"You do realise, she'll probably say we are the worst parents ever and never want to speak to us ever again if we don't let her go," I state.

Heather looked at me and slowly nodded her head. We are only thinking about what we would think would be good for her, but mainly this is for us. We need to think about the outcome for Lauren too.

With that, I gave Heather a quick kiss then I walked upstairs to get changed and get ready for dinner."

Lauren's POV

It's been a couple of days since I have figured out a miracle happened. That is, WIN ONE DIRECTION TICKETS!

Oh. My. Gosh.

At seven o'clock in the morning, I decided to get up and "start my plan." This better work. I am not wasting my hours of sleep that will soon be limited to not get anything good out of this.

I slowly sat up in my warm, comfy bed and rubbed my eyes. Tiredly, I reached for a hair tie on my nightstand and tied my "bird's nest" up, so it wouldn't bother me anymore. Looking out my window, I barely saw the sun rising in the distance. Seriously. It's so early to get up!

After fixing up my room and placing "things" in the right places, I quietly made my way over to my bathroom and started to brush my teeth and wash my face.

When I was done, I put some lotion on my face, so it would feel smooth and tied my hair up in a ponytail. I wanted to stay in my pyjamas, but I wanted my parents to be impressed with me getting up so early, so I decided, sadly, to put some black leggings on with a purple t-shirt.

Making my way slowly and quietly down the stairs, I started thinking about my "master plan." Half way down the stairs, my thoughts were interrupted when I heard a "squeak" and then a louder "crack."

"Oh shit," I mumbled.

I paused slightly, listening to see if my parents stirred from their sleep.

Nothing. Thank The Lord above. This has to work.

When I reached downstairs, I grabbed the skillet and set it on the stove while turning it on. I got the eggs in the fridge and started to crack them. Meanwhile, I got bacon out and any other "breakfast food" I could find in my kitchen.

After getting the food ready, I started to do some chores such as dishes, laundry, and sadly, taking the garbage out.

I didn't notice or hear the sound of footsteps coming down the stairs until I turned around.

"HOLY SH........" I exclaimed startled.

"I mean, ummm, GOOD MORNING,"

I looked to see my shocked mom and dad staring at me like I had three heads. They looked from me, to the food, to the clean kitchen.

"Well, good morning to you too," my mom replied, shocked.

"Hehe yeah....." I awkwardly said.

My mom started walking over to our tea kettle to have her usually "cup of tea" in the morning.

"So, what brings all this?" My mom asked.

My dad slowly made his way to the kitchen table and started to read the newspaper.

"Umm, well, ummm, I decided to make you breakfast because I... Love..... You...... So much," I stutter, clearly trying to form words.

She raised her eyebrows, then took a sip of her tea.

"Lauren, thank you for doing this," my dad said.

They were clearly impressed. This is good, this is good........

"Oh no prob, I mean I am your favorite daughter. Right?" I jokingly say.

"Yeah, you are favorite, and we love you the best," my dad replied.

"Yes, finally you see," I said while giggling.

They seemed really surprised about what I did and I could keep seeing them sneak looks at each other. I want to know what's going on.

When they were done, I cleaned the plates and my mess I made in the kitchen. I told them I needed to go get something in the basement real fast and they just nodded, going to back to what they were doing. Ok, so that means I am free to go now and they won't even realise I am missing.

I walked downstairs into the basement and sadly, started to clean the mess that looked like it hasn't been cleaned in ages.

After I was done, I changed into better clothes which were my jean shorts and a cute, "flowery" tank top-shirt thing. I needed to look presentable in public. It is still the summer. Speaking of summer, school starts less than one month. ONE MONTH! I am excited it's my last year of high school but, one month, summer is over.

I grabbed my parents car keys, I know, my parents car keys. I still don't have my own car, sadly, but I didn't care all that much to be like, I NEED MY OWN CAR NOW FATHER AND MOTHER." If they wanted to buy me a car, then I am not stopping them, but yeah I don't think that's going to think that's going to happen............

I left a note on the table saying I was going to the store and I grabbed some of my money. I even took a little of my dad's money SHHHHHHH! Don't tell! I don't want to be extremely broke.

Driving in the car, it was so quiet driving by myself. I decided to turn the radio on, which would probably kill anybody if they were with me, because the one and only One Direction came on.

"MAYBE IT'S THE WAY SHE WALKED! STRAIGHT INTO MY HEART AND STOLE IT!"

People were starting to stare at me since my volume was so loud. When the song was over, I remembered the concert and what I had to do, so I could go to Los Angeles. I pulled into into the parking lot and parked the car.

Sticking my phone and money in my back pocket, I started to walk toward the grocery store. Walking down each aisle, I picked foods that I think we would need.

When I was done paying, I got into the car ad started my way back home. In no time, I was pulling into my drive way and walking in and putting away the foods I just bought.

"Hey, Hun," my mom said, "I saw you went to the store to get groceries, thank you."

"Oh your welcome. I thought you might needed some stuff," I replied.

Ok so I made breakfast for her, did chores, and even ran Arron's. How long will this take.

What happened next surprised me.

My mother sighed before saying, "Your Father and I have let you go to Los Angeles to see One Direction. The concert is on August 8th and we already have plane tickets and a hotel for you. I am guessing you are going to take Lexie too. But we are letting you two fly yourselves and shortly after, I will fly up I visit you guys and then we will all come back together, also, you will be staying for a week,"

Oh. My. Freaking. Gosh. My plan worked! I get to go, WAIT WHAT I GET TO GO! Now here is where my real adventure begins
