How It All Began

Lauren was just a normal girl who lived in a normal city. Then, one day her mom entered her into this website contest to get One Direction tickets in Los Angeles.
I know what you are thinking.
"UGH, really another one of these stories!" But I am asking if you could please read it and give me feedback? No one ever said she won them. No ever said she lost them.

3. Just Another Normal Day?

Chapter 3- Just Another Normal Day?

"Honey, can you get down here," my mom questioned.

"UGGG, MOM, WHAT DO YOU NEED!" I exclaimed.

No answer. Really mom, do I actually need to get up and move my feet? I slowly made my way downstairs to see what my mom wanted. I walked downstairs and into the kitchen to see no one there.

"Mom!" I exclaimed loudly.

Seriously I literally wasted two minutes of my life walking down here.

The backdoor leading out into the garage suddenly opened and in came my little beast, Izzy. My chocolate Labrador retriever is not a little beast actually. I guess you could say that was a figure of speech? She is more of a big dinosaur even if she is going to be two years old next June. I ran into my living room that is connected to my kitchen and over to the basket of dog toys for my little chocolate cupcake. Her favorite toy, a stuffed green alligator, is literally missing one of its eyes and part of its tail, but she still loves to play with it.

I threw it across living room almost hitting the lamp sitting on the coffee table by the couch. Izzy ran after it and started running around, being her crazy puppy self.

Suddenly, my mom walked in and was startled by my presence.

"Ok, look there you are, honey," she said.

"Ya I am right here, did you want me to do something for you?"

She looked over at her computer and then back to me.

Finally, she replied, "Yeah, I was wondering if you could take the garbage out for me?"

EWWWW! I hate taking out the garbage. The stupid plastic bag always ends up breaking and food ends up spilling all over and I smell like shit for the whole day! It smells terrible, so I usually end up getting one of my sisters to do it.

"Really, Mom," I complain, "THE TRASH IS DISGUSTING!"

"Ya, ya I know, it's terrible," she replied ignoring my complaining.

I slowly made my way over to the cabinet where we kept all the cleaning supplies and trash bags. I pulled out a green trash bag because hey why not? If I have to take the trash out, might as well have fun by getting a colorful trash bag to put into the trash can.

Making my way to the side of my house to throw away the trash, I spot my best friend, Lexie.I quickly got rid of that rotten food smelling shit and called out for Lexie.

She slowly craned her head toward my direction and waved. We only live a couple of houses away so we could see and hear each other clearly. She jogged down to my house, so we could actually have a conversation. I hugged her, then asked,"How was dinner with the family?"

"Oh, that," she replied, "Umm let's just say I don't think we be allowed to go back into that place again."

"OMG, WHAT DID YOU DO?" I exclaimed.

She slowly started to giggle before launching into her story about the "so called" disaster. Well, apparently her youngest sister, Sophie, got into a fight with her other sister, Sara, so they started throwing their spaghetti and meatballs at each other. In the process of being yelled at by their parents, who are literally my second mother and father, Sara stuck her foot out, which tripped a nearby waiter, who then spilled the chicken noodle soup all over a lady sitting next to them. By the end of the story, I was laughing so hard my stomach hurt.

"Lauren, you should have seen it. It was literally utter chaos!" Lexie exclaimed.

"Haha, I think I needed to be invited to your family dinners more often!"

After talking some more, I told Lexie I should get home so my mom doesn't think I have been kidnapped. She really does get paranoid a lot when I am out. I mean I am seventeen now.

It was still the middle of the day and I had nothing to do, except for my tennis lesson later on in the afternoon. I decided to go home and play with my dog for a little.

I walked in from the backdoor from the garage to notice my mom on her computer and Izzy chewing her toy. My baby puppy looked tired, so I picked her toy up and put it in her crate, which she sleeps in at night. Soon after, she went in her crate and started to doze off. There I sat in the middle of the kitchen, petting my puppy who was taking her afternoon nap while my mother was doing "who knows what" on her computer.

I sat like that for about 20 minutes until I heard a gasp from my mom. I looked up to see what was the matter. My mother had a surprised look on her face.

"Hey, Mom, what happened," I questioned,

"We won," she simply stated.

She looked over at me, her eyes bulging out of her eye sockets with a disbelief on her face.

"I am sorry, what?" I asked confused.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing.

"WHAT" I exclaimed, jumping to my feet.

My mother replied, "Look I got an e-mail like they said it would."

And there right before my eyes I saw

But this doesn't happen. This must be a scam. People like me don't win "big time" things like this, but I see my luck is testing me because maybe people like me can win things like this.
