Cry Lovely

'Anxiety shot through my veins, raging fires. I don't know what I want. I'm confused. Broken. Searching for hopeless love. It's hiding, I'll find it one day not today. No one will love a broken girl. She has herself. Her mind filled with psychotic thoughts.'

9. Wet Sand

I froze. I knew that car was here for me. I started to take steps backward and turned around to bolt up the stairs. I didn't want to be found, I needed to leave. I ran up to Harry's room and leaned my back against the wall next to the door. I slowly slid down to the ground. I barred my head in my knees to let my eyes water. I heard the front door slam and foot steps approaching the bedroom. I looked up to see Harry standing in front of me he got on his knees to get to my eye level.

"Are they gone?" He looked at me his dark green eyes filled with concern. "Yeah yeah he's gone, he asked me if I knew anything about a Sophie Clay. I said no. He asked me a couple other questions revolving around you disappearing." A tear ran down my cheek. I wiped it away. "My car." I said real quiet. "Harry, my car." I said louder. His eyes grew wider. "We need to get your things before they find it." He said while he grabbed my hand to help me up. We ran down the stairs and out to his car. We piled in his car and raced out of his driveway to the beach. We were both still in sweats and barefoot.

It was cloudy and overcast outside. The trees and road were still wet from the rain last night. We made it to the part of the beach were my car was parked. It obviously hadn't been discovered my the police yet. Harry tossed me my keys. I ran over to the drivers side and put the keys in the door to unlock it. I crawled in to unlock the rest of the doors and pop the trunk. He started taking my suitcases, already packed with all my belongings, out and transporting them to his car. I picked up our damp clothes and tossed them into the trunk if his car.

"I can't believe those are still wet." He said laughing as he carried a couple pillows out of my car. "Crazy right it's not like they have been sitting in a cold enclosed car for the past two days." I said sarcastically. He laughed and he closed the trunk to my car. I crawled to the passenger seat and opened up the glove box and retrieved a metal container which held all my money. I grabbed my phone and a couple more blankets. All of my stuff fit in half of his trunk and my pillows and blanket were in the back seat of his black car. Everything was unpacked. He leaned up against his car and looked at me. I crawled back in and locked all the doors. I got out to lock the drivers door for the last time.

I took a step back and held my keys in my hand. I've had this car since I was 16 and I have so many great memories inside it. I felt stupid saying goodbye to my car but I really wanted to say goodbye to it. It was old and beaten up but it still made me happy. I hit the hood with my hand "Goodbye baby." I ran back over to Harry and his car. He opened my door for me to get in. Once he closed the door I put my keys in his glove department and I put his keys in ignition. He got in and we both sat there for a minute or two.

I turned to look at him but he was already staring at me. I got lost in his dark eyes. They were filled with stories and memories I wanted to know. His stare made me feel like I was melting. "Do you want to sit down by the water and breath in the air?" He asked still locking me in his stare. I nodded and we both got out of the car. We both started walking down the beach to reach the edge of the wet sand. The dried up seaweed was in its own little patches around the beach. I could feel the sand and dry seaweed cradle my bare feet in each step. I sat down first having my toes reach the wet sand. Harry sat to my left. I closed my eyes to let my ears and nose take over. The sound of the crashing waves rushed over my body. The salty ocean air made me sleepy and relaxed.

"Harry." I said his name, I kept my eyes closed.

"Mmhm" I opened my eyes to look at him but his eyes were closed and he had a smile on his face. I looked back at the ocean and shut my eyes again. "When we leave to getaway we need to be waking distance from a beach." I heard him laugh a little. "That sounds like a wonderful idea." He nudged me with his shoulder and I nudged him back. We both sat there for a good 20 minutes listening to the blowing wind and rumbling waves. A smile grew on my face when I felt his lips peck me on the cheek.
