This Isn't Love

Morgan encounters a mysterious, yet breathtaking boy. Although she wants to, she can't resist him.

1. Chapter 1

"Morgan you have to come." Arthi begged.

"I'm just not the party type." I continued to flip through the channels on the TV.

"If you don't go, I'm not going." She said.

"Who even invited you?" I asked, looking away from the TV and over to her pleading face.

"I still can't believe you're friends with that guy. He's in a band, and guys in bands are never good news." I hadn't ever had much luck with guys or relationships. I had only ever had one boyfriend and he ruined me, I dated him in high school. We dated for almost a year and then I found out he was dating another girl for almost the whole time we were together. Ever since then, whenever guys asked me out I always said no.

"Morgan, he's really sweet." Arthi and I had been friends since elementary school, we grew up together. She knew why I was so hesitant when it came to guys, and I always tried to protect her from them. "Trust me, he would never do anything to hurt me."

"Yeah, I've heard that before." I said in a sarcastic tone.

"Morgan I think it could be really fun, please go with me."

"You know, if you weren't my best friend-" I was cut off by Arthi jumping up and hugging me tightly.

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Her excitement made me smile.

"Well if I'm going to a party I need to go get ready." I said lightly pushing her off.

"Yeah, Liam's picking us up in about thirty minutes. Hurry up!" She yelled at me as I walked up the stairs. After high school, Arthi and I came to London for college. We both go to the same college downtown, and share a flat. She had, had a few boyfriends in high school but never really 'fell' like I did, so when they broke up she wasn't as messed up as I was.

As I reached my room I went straight to the closet that contained my dresses. As I searched through the clothes I had no idea what to wear, not that the feeling was new.

"Arthi, I don't know what to wear!" I yelled as I continued to search.

"Hold on!" I heard her voice getting closer as she spoke. "Let me see" She walked into my room and nudged me out of the way so she could look through my closet.

"I can't go because I have nothing to wear." I spoke, hoping to get myself out of going to the party.

"I think you should wear this." She held up the black fitted dress that I wore to our senior party. It had small pink swirls in the middle.

"W-n-I don't think so." I stuttered. "It's way to tight, and I don't know anyone there. They'll think I'm a slut."

"No they won't! Put it on." She said with a stern voice.

I groaned before snatching the dress out of her hand and slamming my bathroom door.

"You're gonna look great!" She tried to encourage me.

"Hush" I said trying to squeeze my body into the dress. I had to wiggle as I pulled the dress up. "I need you to zip me" I opened the bathroom door.

"Wow, you're gonna get yourself a boyfriend in that dress." She teased as she pulled the zipper up.

"Don't even start."

"Hurry up and fix your hair, I've got to get ready." She said as she turned to leave the room.

I went into the bathroom and plugged in my flat iron. I grabbed my mascara and brushed it on my eyelashes, I didn't want to attract to much attention so I only put a little on. As I straightened my long brown hair, I heard talking coming from downstairs. I quickly unplugged the iron and slid on my flats as I walked down the stairs. I had never met Liam, only heard things that Arthi told me about him.

"You look great." I heard his voice speak to her as I rounded the bottom of the stairs. "And who's this?" He turned to me.

"I'm Morgan." I gave him a sweet smile, but not to sweet.

"Hi Morgan, I'm Liam. It's nice to meet you." He leaned in for a hug. "You guys ready to go?" He turned back to Arthi.

"Yeah." She smiled.

The whole ride to the party was spent listening to Liam and Arthi flirt, which made me cringe. I sat in the back seat, completely silent.

"And... We're here." Liam said as he pulled into a house with all kinds of lights hanging from it.

"Umm.. Arthi, I don't think I like this." I whispered to her as we got out of the car.

"Don't worry, I'll be with you the whole time." She reassured me.

We walked in to the house and my height gave me a big disadvantage. Everyone was crowded together. I pushed my way through the crowd until I was able to see something that wasn't someone else's body. I walked over to the couch waiting for Arthi to walk through the crowd, but she didn't. I was about to sit down before I felt someone's hand on my lower back.

"Hi love, I'm Harry. Why are you alone?" The curly headed boy beside me smiled, his green eyes staring into mine.

"Um, I'm waiting for my friend." I slightly moved so that he was no longer touching me. The only light was the small globes hanging from the fireplace.

"What's your name?" He smirked.

"Morgan" His breath, that kept hitting my face, told me that he had been drinking.
