It's kind of a mixture between fifty first dates and the vow. 19 year old Elle's life is flipped upside down when she gets into a car crash and gets short term memory loss due to brain damage. One year later things seem to be shaping up for her when she meets a boy she can remember.

2. *Chapter Two*

Elle's POV:

"Elle, Elle, Elle" Dakota whispered as she poking me, trying to wake me up.

"What?" I groaned

"I'm going to the university and then work. I left yesterday on the table so read it and eat. You have work at noon and I need you to get groceries for me. Oh and we're going out tonight, I was invited to a holiday party and I can bring a friend." I rolled my eyes and got out of bed. Parties, ew. I had a miserable time at the last party I went to, the one the night of the accident.

"Okay. Why don't you take that one girl I hate? You work with her and treats me like I'm special needs even though she knows I'm high functioning and I just can't remember. She dresses like a slut." I went to my closet and started looking through my clothes.

"Her name is Christine and I'm not taking her because she's a bitch. She flirts with Louis all the time." I rolled my eyes a bit as I picked out my favorite hoodie and worn down yoga pants. Louis was Dakota's current boyfriend. He was really cool and all but she was super obsessed with him.

"Ohh Louis." I mimicked in the sultry voice she used in her attempts to seduce boys. "You guys are loud sometimes. I'm buying headphones when I go to the grocery store today."

Dakota laughed a bit. "At least you can remember him. You better change before I come home because you are not wearing that monstrosity to the party tonight."

"Okay whatever you say. What groceries do you need?"

"There's a list on the table"

"Okay" I put on my clothes, went downstairs, poured myself a bowl of rice crispies with with milk and sugar, and read about my previous day.

I got the groceries, went to the gym, and then went to my hellish job. I did the usual bit where I pretended like I cared very deeply about my job and that the perv, Ted who worked there didn't bug me when he stared at my ass all the time. I'm a waitress at like the grossest diner ever and it sucks. I was waiting tables when someone called out, "Elle! Hey!" I spun around and matched the voice to a blonde who was sitting at a table with a group of friends. I looked at the group and did my best not to appear confused.

"I'm Sara, we met last week at the gym." I stared at her not remembering her at all. The embarrassment began to sweep over me.

"I'm really sorry, I suffer from extreme short term memory lost. I forget things the day after they happen. It sucks. I'm super sorry but I have no idea who you are." I turned around and walked away my face beet red.

"Oh well nice seeing you." I kept walking not bothering to look back. I went to the bathroom and went into a stall. I began to do a strategy my therapist taught me when this happened. I closed my eyes and tried to remember. Nothing. As usual my mind was empty. I avoided where she was sitting and finished my shift.

I went home and changed into a green sparkly dress I had gotten pre-accident. It matched my green eyes perfectly and complimented my pale skin and red hair. I did my hair and put on make up since I hadn't bothered to do so earlier.

Dakota's POV:

I came home from work and walked in. Elle was sitting in a chair staring into the distance. I figured I should bug her since she was probably having a memory fit. A memory fit is when she tries really hard to remember something or when a day will suddenly come to her. I walked by her and went up to my room. I pulled on a red dress and straightened my hair.  When I finished I put in some earrings, put on my heels and walked down the stairs.

"We're leaving." I grabbed the keys off the island and walked outside. Elle snapped out of her fit and followed me out to the car. I feel super awful about the memory thing. It really is all my fault. I shouldn't have been driving and it's just horrible because she doesn't deserve so much stress and confusion in her life. I started the car and backed out.

"So what was your memory fit about?"

"I was trying to remember someone who said hi to me at work. She said she met me at the gym."

"Did you?"

"Nope." She shook her head.

"Just so you know, Lou will be at the party and he's bringing some of his mates so I figured we could hang with them if you're cool with it."

"Sure."

I pulled over and parked outside of the house. Elle shivered a bit in the cold air. She turned around.

"Are you driving home or am I?"

"Can you I was hoping to go home with Lou tonight."

"Sure whatever."

"Great!" Elle began to walk to the door. I was proud of her, she hadn't gone out in a while and she seemed kind of enthusiastic
