Back to the begining

Roxaan is plagued by a dream that has been happening every night since her twin sister went missing on their fifth birthday party. she finds out a lot more about her life in due time, after everything settles a mysterious twist comes out of nowhere. will she ever find out where her sister is or who she really is?

9. The more you worship, the less you worry.

“Roxy!” Sam shouted in my ear. “Roxy!”

“Yes Sam!” I said while tickling her furiously.

“Mom and dad are downstairs and want to see everyone!”

“Come on lets go then.” I said and we made our way downstairs to the lounge in the kid’s house.

As all my siblings started flooding in the lounge I realized that they were 12 kids, Cheaper by the Dozen just got real. As I sat down at the table a super skinny girl with brown hair and eyes motioned me and Sam over.

“Hi you must be Roxaan, I am Janie.” she said giving me a huge fake hug. “And I think I speak for us all when I say that you desperately need a make-over.”

“And you have now met our darling sister Lanie… I mean Janie. “Said Brad in the most sarcastic tone possible and quickly added “she is lovely she really is.” And winked at her, while sitting next to me.

“Settle down everyone. May all the children under 15 please leave the room now.” Jonah said while Sam, Jacob and Mason left.

Lance and Lucy Smith came in the room dressed in Levis and Brown t-shirts; very dull and boring but oddly suited them.

“Morning my oldest lovelies” said Lucy and smiled at all of us individually. “It has come to our attention…”

“…that the teenagers of this city have had a sudden want for a youth group.” Lance said seamlessly. There was a sudden murmur in the room.

Brad whispered in my ear “they have never taken our advice before and we have been asking them since we came here.”

Lucy started to continue “so we have finally decided that…”

“We are going to let Rob and Jamie, the two oldest boys to organize the youth group and every one of you will contribute for the younger kids.”

“There will be a younger children’s youth group, like 5 until 9, on Friday from 4 until 4.30 and then a slightly older group, like 10 until 13, from 4.30 until 6...”

“And finally the oldest youth group, namely 14 until 18 or 19, from about 7 until 9. We will let one you announce the new youth groups at church on Sunday.” They both nodded and then quickly left.

We then sat around the table and discussed the obvious points of Venue, who will do what and most importantly how we will worship.

“First we need a venue. Any ideas?” Rob said with his computer out taking notes.

“I can check at the community hall where I tauter sometimes?” Brian said

“Yeah I have Jacks number I will call and ask if it is available.” Sally said and left to call him straight away. These kids don’t screw around, they get stuff done.

“Okay next point. Who will do what? “Rob said.

“Well we can separate into groups once worship is over. I know I did that at a church group I went to once.” Said Jason quite nervously.

“ long as I don’t have to do much cause I have way too much on my plate.” Said Janie and left the room.

“Well okay then princess. Anyway. That’s a good idea but what do we do when we are in those groups?” brad asked.

“Well, we can play games with the little kids that teach them a lesson about something in the bible and talk about it afterwards.” Seth said staring into space.

“Not a bad idea Seth-y boy. “Jason said while slapping him on the back causing him to jolt and fall off his chair that he was riding on.

We obvious immature teenagers all roared in laughter as Sally walked in the room just stared at us not knowing how to process what must have looked ridiculous.

“Well moving on quickly. He said it’s alright and free of charge since we are preaching the lords work.” She explained in a what-the-hell-did-I- just- say tone.

“Awesome venue done.” I said. “Now we know what we are going to do and where. But in these groups who is going to go with whom?”

We continued sorting out the details for another 2 hours, but eventually managed to get everything sorted. Jason and I would take on the 5-6 year olds and I would handle the girls while he takes the boys. Everyone would arrive and we would start to worship to a new-er form of worship… by doing covers of Christian-rock.

I, Jason, Seth and Brad would be the band. Brad on vocals, Seth on base, Jason on keyboard and me on electric guitar.

Since we need to organize all of the three youth groups we agreed we would meet on Friday morning to start organizing in more detail, like the games and setting up the room.although the band needs to practice so we will be practicing all of Thursday and Friday morning.

All I know is that this is going to be a lot of work…
