Once, Harry Potter was told that there were three unregistered animagi by his godfather, Sirius Black. But Sirius was wrong... there were four.

7. Chapter 7

"Look, Lily," Severus began awkwardly, "I didn't mean it. I just got so caught up in the moment. James was being... well, James, and I just got mad. I'm really sorry." I didn't respond. I just walked away as quickly as I could. I needed to get away from here. I had lunch, and then another free period, so I sprinted up to the owlery. I glanced around to make sure that nobody was there, and dove out the window, transforming without thought. Then I flew towards the Forbidden Forest.

I looked for Lily after Potions. Snape had wanted to talk to her, and she must have consented, because she wasn't next to me when I left the class. But she wasn't at lunch, and she wasn't in the owlery. I checked the library, the common room, and the corridors where she would hide out some times. But no Lily.

"She's probably just resting," Sirius tried to assure me, "It's been a long couple of days. Yesterday we arrived, and today has been pretty stressful."

"I don't know," I muttered.

"She's fine. I can check the map," squeaked Peter. Peter was the perfect person to be an Animagus rat. He was small, weak, and squeaky. But he was clever. He pulled out a piece of parchment that I recognized immediately.

"I solemnly swear that I'm up to no good," Peter whispered, tapping the parchment with his wand. And then, the blank parchment was covered in ink.

"James," Remus stammered, looking over Peter's shoulder, "she's in the forbidden forest."
