Trilogy ASA Book Two.

17. Painful Truth

Vesper's mouth twisted and her eyes narrowed. There was no way that was true. Her family was her real family, right? There was no way that her mother wasn't her mother.

"LIES!" Vesper shouted and smacked Klaus one more time before Paul entered the scene and stopped her from further damage.

"Come on Vesper." Paul said. "We have a plane to catch."

"He's lying." Vesper spat. "I know he is."

"Vesper calm down." Paul said. "Let's get inside the plane and we will talk about this okay."

Vesper narrowed her teary eyes at Klaus but turned around and walked towards the rest of the lads. She couldn't even start thinking about her mother not being her real mother, but as she thought back, she never looked like her mother or father. They wouldn't lie to her, would they?

Niall heard a small beeping, but he couldn't understand from where it came, and it appeared that Marie didn't listen to it or wasn't paying attention. He knew it had only been a week, and that Vesper was doing whatever she could to save him, but even though he knew that he felt like they didn't care about him. He now understood how Vesper must have felt when she was kidnap for six months and no one went to her rescue.

"They are moving Klaus to ASA in Australia." Marie said. "I think they gave up in you. I knew it." She added. "Vesper doesn't have a heart. She was trained really good."

"She's not giving up in me." Niall spat. "Just like I never gave up in her."

"But you never found her." Marie cooed. "She had to break out from her kidnapper and she found you, you didn't find her."

"She will find me." Niall said. "I know she will."

"Of course..." Marie laughed as she left the room.

I was sick and tired of her, how could she be the birthmother of Vesper, who was so sweet? I tried to think back in the training I had, trying to remember if there was some way in which I could get away from this.

My hands were tied behind me in some sort of cord, and my feet were free. This is good. I looked around the room and saw that there was a gun, a couple of bullets and a knife on the table a few feet away from me. If I got to the table and got the knife, I could escape.

I was going back to the love of my life.

Vesper sat on the desk, arms crossed and a stern look as she waited for ASA director to answer the question she didn't want to know the answer to. They had already turned in Klaus, and they were now waiting for a back up team so that they could go back and save Niall.

"Vesper." The director spoke. "I know that you want to know the answer, but you have to understand that what we did was for the best."

"Answer my question." Vesper repeated herself. "I don't care why you did it. I want to know the answer."

"Yes." The director said. "Your family wasn't your real family. You birthfather passed away in a mission and your birthmother left you at the doorsteps of ASA."

Vesper kept her face as it was. This was it. All of her life had been a lie. She had trusted people who weren't her real family, but they were at the same time.

Paul stood there staring at Vesper trying to understand what went through her mind.

"I'm going to kill her." Vesper said.
