1. Getting Ready For Christmas

It seemed like just an ordinary day at the North Pole. The elves were in Santa's workshop building all the toys for the good girls and boys, Santa was sat in his mantion getting his big man-sized boots polished, and the raindeer were being saddled up for their long flight. Santa sat their in his swivel chair, as three elves stood on tip-toe awkwardly trying to neaten out his bushy white beard. Another two elves were brushing the few white hairs he had left on the top of his head. It took about five elves to retrieve his heavy red coat from the cupboard, and another five to lift it up, and put it on Santa. A red hat with a snowball bobble on the top lowered from the ceiling, landing on the top of Santa's head.

"Your all suited up for the big night Mr Claus" a friendly little male elf with a little brown goatee said in a sqeaky high-pitched voice. Santa's voice bellowed, causing the room to shudder, and a couple elves to tumble over like skittles. "Thank you Vincant, that will be all". He then left the room as his stomping large feet made the house bounce uneaily. All the elves in the room were used to this by now, and had hold of little handles attached to the walls for this exact purpose. For elves are such tiny people, they are affected by the slightest jolting of the ground. But being so small and delicate is the reason they build such amazing toys. The stitching so small and perfected, without a single stitch mark out of line. Their painting stopping right at the line, and not a hair out of place on a doll. They could go inside an electronic toy, and build it from the inside. This was Santa's little secret to how the toy factory worked. Elves would run in hamster wheels to run the electricity to work the many machined, and all the christmas lights.
