46. Vows

Harry’s POV
“We have two minutes until it starts. How do you feel?” Niall asked, standing to my right.

“I really can’t tell you. I’m excited, happy and ready.” I say, not fighting the grin that spread out across my face.

“You sure you’re ready for this? It’s not to late to back down.” Louis said, earning a smack in the chest from Liam.

“I’ve never been so ready and sure about anything in my life since the twins.” I confess as I start to pace back and forth.

“You seem nervous.” Zayn said, making me roll my eyes.

“You say nervous, I say impatient.” I reply, stopping in from of him.

“What ever you say, big guy. We have to go meet the girls, see you in a few.” Louis said, nodding his head once before leaving me at the alter by the preacher.

I tap my foot impatiently as everybody took their seats, hushed whispers slowly quieting as the piano started to play. My eyes instantly locked on the door across the room from me.

Right on cue, the door pushed open, revealing my friends. Fer and Liam were first, followed by the couples Niall and Ashley, Louis and Ariel and Zayn with Sarah. Liam’s right eye dropped a wink to a girl with dark hair in the crowd, earning a shy smile. The couples separated, the guys forming a line beside me while the girls lines up beside where Nichole will soon stand.
My mum came through the door next, guiding Dylan down the isle as he grinned at everybody and carried the rings on a tiny pillow. He waddled down to me, making me chuckle as he went straight for me before my mum grabbed his hand and pulled him to the side.
The next person down the isle was guided by my soon to me mother-in-law. Darcy stuck her little hand in the small basket she had before throwing little rose pedals out, making a few girls “aw” and earned a couple of chuckles as she tossed some in the air, her cute laugh ringing out as she was pulled out to the opposite side of the isle.
My eyes eagerly scanned the doors for the next figure, my heart thumping loudly in my chest. My patients were wearing thin before the opened again, making everybody stand and my jaw drop.

Nichole smiled shyly at the crowd as she began to walk out, griping the flowers in front of her tightly as she made eye contact with very few people. I glanced around me, smiling smugly as every person in the room seemed to be in awe of her beauty, some even looking a little jealous.

Our eyes met and locked, a huge smile on her face as she finally met me at the alter. She brushed acurl behind her ear before looking back up at me.

“Hi.” I say quietly, making her giggle.

“Hi.” she replies back, taking my hands.

“Not to late to run away.” I tease, making her snicker.

“You’re not getting out of this one so easily, Styles.” She replies, making me smile.

The ceremony starts, the preachers voice ringing out. Minutes fly by and soon it was time to make it official.

The preachers voice brought me out of my little daze, Nichole’s name catching my attention.

“Do you, Nichole, take Harry to be your lawful wedding husband?” He asked, turning towards the beautiful scene in front of me.

Our eyes connected and we shared a large smile, her eyes glistening.

“I do.” She says, the words music to my ears.

“And do you, Harry, take Nichole to be your lawful wedded wife?” He asked me, facing towards my direction.

“I do.”I say, never taking my eyes off of my wife to be in just seconds.

“Now you may say your vows. Nichole, you can go first.” the man said, stepping back a step. I saw Nichole shift uncomfortably as all eyes were on her.

“Whew, where do I begin?” She says, making me smile as her face reddened.

“Well, let’s start at the beginning. When I fist met him, we didn’t get along. We fought and argued about everything and just didn’t like each other. If you would have asked me two and a half years ago if I would have two beautiful children by Harry Styles, my answer would have been no. If you would have asked me if I would be married to Harry, my answer would have been hell no.” She said, making me chuckle as others laughed a few seconds before quieting down to let her finish.

“But... If you would have asked me a year ago, both would be yes. I can’t picture a better father for my kids. He loves them unconditionally and I don’t know where I would be without him by my side.” She says, her eyes bright with unshed tears as she blocked out the crowd awing and focused on me.

“I’m standing here today because I’m in love with you. I can’t picture a better man to spend the rest of my life with. I’m glad it’s you.” She finished, giving me a shaky smile. I grinned back at her, fighting the urge to kiss her before the right time.

“I love you.” She says, her voice strong and loud.

“I love you, too.” I automatically reply, hearing the crowd give a small aw.

“Nichole, I don’t know where I would be right now, at this very moment. When you came into my life with your sassiness and attitude, I honestly didn’t know what I was supposed to do with you. You came in and took over. You changed me for the best. I love that I get to wake up to your messy bed hair every morning. I have two gorgeous, loving children from you and it only feels right to have you by my side. I know that it won’t be perfect every single step of the way. I know that we will fuss and argue. But, to be completely honest with you, I would rather us fight then work it out than just pretend that everything is perfect. I love you, Nichole. Today, you have made me the happiest man alive.” I say, my arm instantly raising to cup her cheek with my hand, wiping away the stray tear that rolled down her cheek.

“Let us now exchange rings.” The man said, reminding me of his presence beside me. I nodded my head for him to continue.

“These are the hands of your best friend, young and strong and full of love for you, that are holding yours on your wedding day, as you promise to love each other today, tomorrow, and forever. These are the hands that will work alongside yours, as you build your future together. These are the hands that will passionately love you and cherish you through the years, and with the slightest touch, will comfort you like no other. These are the hands that will hold you when fear or grief fills your mind. These are the hands that will countless times wipe the tears from your eyes; tears of sorrow, and as in today, tears of joy. These are the hands that will tenderly hold your children, the hands that will help you to hold your family as one. These are the hands that will give you strength when you need it. And lastly, these are the hands that even when wrinkled and aged, will still be reaching for yours, still giving you the same unspoken tenderness with just a touch.” His voice rang out loudly before he motioned for tiny Dylan to be brought forward. Mum lead him up to the alter and let him stand between me and Nichole. I leaned down and took Nichole’s ring while she took mine, smiling gratefully as she held Dylan’s hand as they returned to their original spot.

“Harry, place the ring on Nichole’s left hand and repeat after me.” The man said, motioning for me to do so.

I gladly took her hand, feeling happiness bubble up in my chest as she let out a small giggle.

“I give you this ring as a symbol of my commitment to you.It has no beginning and it has no end.May its presence on your hand always remind you of my eternal love.” He said, waiting for me to follow. I copied and waited for the next words.

“Harry and Nichole, may you live happily ever after. May all your days be blessed with love and friendship. May each day and night of your lives be a new beginning. By the power vested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may now kiss the bride.” He said.

I grinned down at Nichole, edging closer to her. She grinned back up at me, meeting me in the middle. I took her hand and placed it in the middle of my chest, letting her feel my heartbeat.

“It only beats for you, ya know. It always has.” I say seriously, watching her face.

She smiled, ducking her head down for a few seconds before looking back up at me. She grabbed my free hand and placed it in the middle of her chest.

“And mine beats for you. Only for you.” She says, smiling up at me.

“Good.” I mutter before leaning down and kissing my wife.
