Heartbeat Away {Luke Hemmings}

Luke broke her heart so many years ago. However, he's never fully gotten over her. He's tried everything to get her back, but with her changed email, Twitter, deleted Facebook and number, there was no way for him to contact her. When he finally thinks he's over her, she spots her in the streets with him. She gives signs that she might like him again, except she has a boyfriend. Will she dump her current boyfriend of 4 years for Luke, or will she be the one time break Luke's heart this time?

13. Kitchen Ramblings

Rosie's POV

Lucas Robert Hemmings, I wish I knew what went on in that head of yours. I thought to myself.

The room was dimly lit and I could hear him scurrying in the kitchen. His large feet had made it very noticeable. On the table in front of me, a pile of letters all addressed to him from me and the other boys.

This home of his was very rustic and reminded me of the one I share with Dalton.

"Luke! You alright in there?" My voice followed behind the sound of falling pots and pans.

"I'm all good!" His breath was heavy.

I rolled my eyes and walking into the kitchen to find him on the floor.

"I kinda fell," he said, his head raising off the ground.

"What in the world happened?"

"I was trying to get that thing and thing up there but then I slipped and then I fell." His pointer finger directed at the shelf that even I could reach, being half a foot shorter than him.

"Luke, you're 6 and half feet tall. How could you have possibly fallen down?" I reached my hand out to help him up, but he refused.

"I like the floor."

"Always have, always will." I giggled at him. My phone buzzed.

From: The Adaltable Dalton

Ello there my bride to be. Although I have terrible people skills and terrible grammar, I managed to reserve us a table at Del' Anyas. I shall see you there in an hour.

I hope this isn't too short notice. Dal x

PS, I'm back from my business trip.

I sighed, looking down at the man-child still beneath me.

"Are you ok Rosie? I didn't upset you, did I?"

"Oh no, Luke. Of course not. It's just, I'd really love to stay and catch up, but Dalton just texted me telling me we have last minute dinner reservations." I tried to sound sincere.

"Oh. Um. That's alright. Really. We can always raincheck. I'm always free." He swallowed mid-sentence and seeing his sad expression made me want to cry.

"I'm free tomorrow. 5-8. Dalton will be at his suit fitting so I shall be all yours tomorrow evening. Is that alright?"

"It's perfect." He finally stood up, arising off the ground like a meerkat.

"It was great seeing you again Luke. I will be back tomorrow."

With a hug and an innocent kiss on the cheek goodbye, I was out the door and onto Dalton. Something however, didn't feel right.
