10. Chapter 9

It's one of the worst things a person had to do possible. It makes you anxious and over whelmed. And it makes you numb to any other feeling in your body at that time. So waiting for Justin to return with Camryn was the worst.

I tapped my foot anxiously on the ground while just starring out into space. There was so much going around in my mind I felt like I was going to explode. With Greg potentially firing me, with Camryn not feeling well again in such a small time span, and of course all the mixed emotions I have towards Justin.

Just thinking all of it makes me sick.
But luckily, hearing the door slam shut brought me back to reality.

I shot up out of my seat and quickly turned on my heels to face the direction of the door. Justin was standing there looking panicked with Camryn in his arms bawling her eyes out.

"Oh my god! What happened?" I panicked rushing over to them until I could see Camryn's face. It was all red, she had tears streaming down her face, her little nose all runny, and there was spit all over her and Justin's shoulder.

"I picked her up and the nurse didn't know what was wrong with her. But she keeps spitting up…like she can't swallow." Justin explained softly rubbing her back. "She's scared and she hasn't stopped crying."

"Baby, how are you feeling?" I asked her brushing her little curls out her face.

"I-I can't drwink or eat. It won't go down." She cried then reached her arms out to me.

"I think we need to take her to the hospital." Justin stated while gently placing Camryn in my arms. I nodded before we headed out to the car.

"My froat hurts!" Camryn whined constantly on our way to the hospital.

"I know baby. We're here now to go make you better. Ok?" I said to her as I lighting kissed her forehead. She nodded and sniffled a little.

"Justy!" She whined holding her hands out to Justin as we were making our way to the car.

Justin smiled before taking her out of my arms. He kissed her temple and started to rub her back soothingly.

"Hi, how my a help you?" A nurse asked with a bright smile once we reached the child unit of the hospital.

"My daughter has been complaining that her throat hurts and she can't swallow anything." I told the nurse and instantly her eyes went wide.

"Ok we need to have emergency care on her. I'll call the doctor up here now." The nurse spoke quickly before dialing the doctor's number.

I'm pretty sure I felt the color from my face drain. I stood there frozen. Emergency care? On my baby? The reality of it hit me hard and tears started to well in my eyes.

"Kat, it's going to be ok." Justin spoke softly while putting a hand on my shoulder. But I ignored him and shrug his hand off making him sigh.

I looked over at Camryn who was sucking her thumb while resting her head in the crook of Justin's neck. It calmed me down knowing she was calm by now.

Shortly after the doctor came rushing in with a few nurses along a little stretcher.
"Hello, I'm Dr Brown do you mind if we take her on the stretcher?" The doctor said will a soft smile.

Before I could even answer Justin was already trying to remove Camryn from his arms and onto the stretcher. It was obviously she didn't want to leave him because her little knuckles got white as she clung onto Justin for dear life and how she was kicking her feet rapidly trying to find his hip again.

"Cammy come on." I begged her not to do this right now. But just as I finished my sentence she screamed for dear life while starting to cry.

"NO JUSTY! STAY!" She screamed and sobbed while trying to keep on him.

"Camryn I'm going to be right next to you I promise but the doctor is going to make you feel better." He whispered softly to her in such a soothing voice.

Her crying and screaming went down to a whimper and she loosened her grip on Justin so he can be able to set her down.

I have to admit, I was a little jealous that Justin could calm her so easily. With me I would have to end up bribing her until she calmed down.

"Mom and Dad, I'll have to take her down by herself to the emergency room to run some quick test. You guys can come in shortly after." Dr.Brown explained.

"Are you fucking insane?! She's three years old for crying out loud!" I yelled at him. No way in hell would I let that doctor take my three year old  without me in there.

"Ma'am I'm sorry but it's for everyone's safety at the most it would take 30 minutes." He tried to calm me. But that was the wrong thing to say.

"NO. SHE IS THREE I NEED TO BE THERE WITH HER! IM NOT LEAVING HER ALONE FOR 30 FUCKING MINUTES!" I screamed at him causing the whole waiting room to look at me.

"Katrina calm down. The sooner you stop yelling the faster we'll get to see her again." Justin whispered softly in my ear before kissing my cheek gently.

That calmed me down enough for me to acted like an adult. Just by the tone of his husky sweet voice and the sparks and heat that rushed through my body made me melt right there.

"Ok doc. Just please make her better." Justin begged. The doctor smiled before slowly rolling my little angel away from me.

I watched as they disappeared through the hallway. I kept looking at the end of the hallway waiting for them to turn around and tell me Camryn was ok.

"Kat, let's go over to where we wait." Justin said as he slowly guided me to the waiting room.

And here we are waiting…again.
