15. Chapter 14

"A date?" I asked, confused. "Like a real one?"

Justin laughed. "That's what I was thinking."

I sat up and stared at him like he was insane. "You're not kidding."

"I didn't think I was." Justin smiled. I managed a small smile in return.

"Sure," I said, getting up from the couch. "But where are we going?"

Justin followed me as I started to walk upstairs to my bedroom. "You know I don't plan anything ahead of time."

I laughed. "Right. I kinda forgot. Don't worry, though, I know somewhere we can go."

"Oh really?" Justin asked suspiciously and shut the door behind him. I nodded, crawling into bed.

"You'll have to find out tomorrow though."

He frowned and lied down next to me. I turned so I was facing him. "Oh, so you're gonna play the guy's part and be all secretive."

"Are you calling me a dude?"

Justin laughed and kissed my nose. "Never."

And on that happy note, we both fell alseep, only to return to our usual routine of yelling at each other in the morning

When I woke up, Justin was still asleep. I tried gently nudging him awake, and when that didn't work, I settled for hitting him with my pillow. His eyes flicked open and I smirked. He stuck his tongue out at me.

"Wake up lazy pants, it's date day." I laughed.

He sat up, stretched, then lied right back down but turned his back on me. I frowned. "I'm too tired." he said. "Make me breakfast or something."

I raised an eyebrow. "Are you kidding me?"

Justin grabbed a pillow and put it over his face. "Stop talking I have a headache."

By this time I was already done with him. I realized that he was never going to stop being a douche bag and that we'd never become what we used to be. I bit my lip and nodded even though he wasn't looking. "Alright."

I got up and left to go make breakfast. I grabbed Camryn from her room and sat her down at the table. I continued to make breakfast without talking to her. She kept asking me questions, though, and I almost smashed something.

Then I heard: "Justy!"

I turned to see Justin sitting at the table but he was looking down like he didn't want to meet my eyes. I set his breakfast on the table a little harsher than I intended.

"Here's your breakfast." I muttered before going into the living room to finish picking up Camryn's toys.

"Kat what's your problem?" Justin asked irradiated clearly. He came to the door frame separating the living room and kitchen leaning onto it looking uninterested.

"Nothing." I shrugged before walking past him up to Camryn's room. He swore under his breath before his heavy footsteps followed me.

I put her toys in her toy box before walking to the door but Justin was being a dick and blocking me from getting out.

"I guess we're being a dick today." I muttered to myself before turning around to try and busy myself. But before I could get anywhere Justin grabbed my wrist and spun me to face him.

"Don't touch me!" I gasped trying to get my arm back.

"How am I being a dick?" He scoffed.

"I don't wanna-" I sighed still trying to regain my arm.

"Kat I want you to tell me so I can better myself." He said sarcastically

"And you ask me how you're being a dick." I laughed exasperated. "Justin what's your problem?"

He shrugged looking the other way while clenching his jaw.

"Whatever Justin." I shrugged before pushing him out the way and walking into my room slamming the door.

I started walking for the bathroom to take a shower to clear my mind and get away from him. I started to take off my shirt but the door opened forcefully before Justin walked in slamming the door behind him.

"Why are you upset?" Justin asked taking a deep breath trying to calm himself down I'm guessing.

"Why did you suddenly not give a fuck about me? You just give me the cold shoulder and cancel our plans. Then you expect me to act like everything is all fine?!" I exclaimed at him.

"Just because I cancel our date I automatically don't give a fuck about you? Nice logic Kat." He scoffed crossing his arms.

"Just go Justin." I said quietly gripping my hands on the counter and looking down.

"I don't have to let you be here. I don't need you to put extra drama in my life." I told him raising my voice slightly.

"I'm sorry but if you haven't noticed I'm not here for you I'm here for Camryn." He spoke harshly.

Was I suppose to feel hurt right now? Was everything he did acting like he still had feelings for me, telling me he loved me just for him to stay with Camryn?

"Katrina I-" He sighed.

"You did mean it Justin and you're right. You're only here for Camryn that's exactly why I invited you to stay." I said to him as my eyes welled up with tears. I didn't dare look at him.

He didn't say anything for a few seconds so I spoke up. "I need to take my shower." Without another word he stormed out the bathroom slamming the door.

Once he was out I turned on the water so he wouldn't be able to hear me cry because I knew he was waiting outside the door for me to finish, probably so he could yell at me again.
