Poor Poet's Scroll

"No sword
Of wrath her right arm whirl'd, [6]
But one poor poet's scroll, and with 'his' word
She shook the world." - Tennyson, 'The Poet'

I may not shake the world, but I do believe in the power of words.

5. Ignorance

In a dark, dark universe,

there was a bright, bright star

whose beaming light watched with paternal care,

On the spinning globe beneath his eye.

On this green, green world

dwelt small, small beings

whose daily lives revolved around this star.

Never did they look up and catch his smile.

On a red, red day,

mourning, mourning filled the land

as the kindly eye was blackened with hellfire.

Humans made the earth their own
