I knew as soon as I left the room, people would stop, the pregnant lady had spoken, but I didn't want to yell even more. How in the world am I going to punish this child when she does wrong? As I was ranting inside my mind Chuck came into the kitchen where I had disappeared, looking into his eyes his bright blue/silver eyes I felt a pain in my stomach, Iva didn't like when I was upset, she knew I was upset. When I went to walk over to Chuck I felt something give way and water was falling down my legs though my pants onto the floor. As soon as I saw this a sharp pain went through my abdomain and I started to fall. Chuck hurried to my side and held me up. Another wave of pain shot through me and I gripped his forearms I saw specks of blood on his shirt sleeves, the next wave caused me to scream out and everyone came rushing in. When they saw what happened my mother called 911 and they helped to the living room to wait for them. The pain was almost unbearable I think I broke Chuck's hand I tried to protest Chuck from holding my hand because he was so weak but he was just as stubborn my father seeing my discomfort of Chuck's pain replaced his hand with his, Chuck looked grateful and heartbroken he wanted to be the one holding my hand not my father.

CHUCK'S POV:

Watching her there in pain was horrible. She didn't want me to hold her hand, she was afraid I would get hurt. I wasn't giving up that easy though, this was my daughter to that was coming god dang it! But after a few squeezes I understood why fathers in the parenting movies Mrs.Murrey made us watch were crying. They had broken fingers. I was mixed between given her hand to her father who had his hand broken twice in one delivery well technically two and sucking it up and holding her hand all the way through after one more bone crushing squeeze Mr. Murrey took over. The look on her face was like she was trying to decipher what I was thinking. What was I thinking? I was thinking that I was stuck between gratefulness and heartbreak, it was like I was already dead like I was a ghost they could see and feel. Not really there. This time it was me who cried. Finally I heard the ambulance sirens screaming from down the road. I hoped they brought a doctor with them because we couldn't move her now Mrs.Murrey said. I went to her side and explained this to her between her screams of pain. I heard her mother say,

"IT'S CROWNING!!" that didn't sound good. I guess this was going to be a home-birthing not what we planned but we'll get over it. This baby was coming now! The paramedics came in and set to work they instructed her how to breath and when to push. These paramedics were trained in this area of emergencies. They said after the baby was born they were taking mother and child to the hospital for observation since the baby was premature of about three weeks. Labor lasted almost five long scream filled hours, if the neighbors didn't know she was pregnant they knew now. Finally after what seemed like years Iva Natalia Taylor was placed in my arms and they placed Amelia on the gurney and they led us outside. Our family said they would follow us in a separate car.

Amelia Pov:

I faintly remember the last five pain filled hours. I remember Chuck wiping a cold washcloth across my face. My father holding my hand not wincing when his bone cracked. My mother was soothing me with a lullaby she used to sing to me;

Sweet baby girl,
Stop your crying.
Tomorrow will bring new adventures.
My little baby girl hush now, time for sleep.
Have many sweet dreams and daddy and mommy will be here when you wake.,

The last part of the song cut off by little screams of the now screaming Iva. I was too weak to see her not to mention hold her, her whole birth was like someone was ripping me apart from the inside out, I remember Chuck holding something and then everything went black. I know I dreamed. I saw Chuck, and Iva. We were so happy. We were holding hands and running through a meadow. In the meadow there was a hill. We tried to climb the hill but the hill kept getting steeper and steeper and when we finally got to the top. Chuck was gone. In his place was a tombstone. This dream was a nightmare. It was so pleasant then it turned into this. On top of the tombstone was Kyle, the little boy we saved from the crash the boy who lost everything. He was smiling at me as if to say 'At least we have each other' I went to respond and I woke up.

When I woke up I was in a pink room and beeping was coming from everywhere. Where was I? Where was Chuck? I felt my stomach it was flat. Where was my baby? Then it all came rushing back like an avalanche of knowledge, memories, Painful memories. My baby was here in the hospital. Chuck was here somewhere maybe with her, or getting coffee. I looked around the room trying to take it all in. There were cards all over the walls and balloons saying 'Its A GIRL!' in frilly cursive pink writing and in the corner on the couch was Chuck rocking our Iva. I smiled and went to speak when the doctor came in. He was going to Iva but when he noticed I was awake he detoured and came to me. To explain why I was in here. Chuck noticed and followed the doctor until he found my eyes starring back at him. His face lit up like a Christmas tree. He to got up and went to my side. Chuck looked like he hadn't shaved in days not hours. I wondered how long was that dream?

"Hello Mrs. Taylor."

"Its Murrey still."

"Alright then. Miss. Murrey you've been out for a couple days. Your labor and delivery was damaging to you. You ripped a major artery. We had to stop the bleeding and give you a transfusion. We didn't want you to feel pain so we sedated you. Your baby is healthy. It seems as if she was full term after all. A slight mistake not to worry. First pregnancy tend to have these draw backs. Please keep resting and I'll send a nurse in with some food." he turned to leave but before he did he checked my chart at the end of my bed. He mmmhmmed and nodded his head signed something and left. I turned to Chuck and held out my hands. He place Iva in them and it was like she was made for them.

Iva was perfect, she had skin the color of buttermilk and eyes a deep blue that was almost purple, her lips were rosy pink and curved just like mine. She had a button nose and small ears. Her feet were so tiny, they were the size of a nail polish bottle from Revolon. Her hands curved around my fingers and she cooed as she looked at me. Her hair was hardly visible but it was going to be a honey/auburn color. I just starred at her and after awhile I looked at Chuck and I leaned up to kiss him, but the wires and tubes held me back. He met me halfway and stroked the side of both our faces. The light in his eyes shone tenfold of what they normally would. He was so happy it was like his disease didn't exist, like he was the healthiest man on earth just because he had a daughter.

A nurse came in with dinner for Iva and me. I had what looked like a tuna sandwich, chips milk and a bottle of water. They even brought Chuck something, same as me I think. He came over to me when he finished feeding Iva and placed her in the see though bassinet the hospital gave us until we were able to leave, he handed me the remote and I found re-runs of Friends and That 70's Show.  We watched them all night until we fell asleep that is. I woke up the next morning with Chuck's arms around me the sun shining in my eyes and Iva crying,

I nudged Chuck awake and went to get her. Seeing as I couldn't with all the crap hooked up to me. He passed her to me and I started to feed her. We were so happy. The doctor came in, my parents, my sister, and his parents followed after him shortly after. The doctor said I could go home with my baby today. I smiled in delight and the doctor left and then my parents charged forward and asked to hold their granddaughter and my sister wanted to hold her niece. Chuck's parents were checking on Chuck to make sure he was alright. They didn't even care that their granddaughter was alright, they didn't care their soon to be daughter-in-law was okay. When Chuck went to come over to me, and they stopped him! His mother leaned over to whisper in his ear but I heard her.

"Come Chuck darling she's just a silly girl! This might not be your child after all!"

"Mother this is my child. Amelia is not a silly girl, she is the woman I'm marrying and if you can't accept that then leave. I have to attend to my fiance and daughter."

"Margaret maybe you should leave. What do you have against Amelia?"

"She's taking my Chuckie Poo away from me! He only has so much time left! The doctor's have said so, I've only seen him twice since the night she found out!" she wailed pointing the whole time at me. My parents, sister, and Chuck and his father looked at her as if to say, you've been at their house everyday for the past nine in a half months! She shrunk into the corner and didn't say anything more. We returned to cuddling Iva and cooing at her. Finally Chuck began to pack my things and nurses came in and unhooked me. Chuck helped me up and I went into the bathroom to dress. Chuck gave me a floral sundress and flip flops, a brush, toothbrush and paste and personal items. When I had finished showering and brushed my hair and teeth I dressed  and stepped out and Iva was placed in my hands and I was put into a wheelchair against all my protests.

I was helped into the car and on the drive home I couldn't take my eyes off of Iva I hardly noticed that Chuck was holding my hand. When we arrived I got out first then I grabbed Iva and went inside. The lights were shut off and I could faintly make out human figures in the darkness, a surprise welcome home party? really? Did they know me at all? I flipped the lights on and braced myself for the surprise

"SURPRISE AMELIA, IVA, AND CHUCK! WELCOME HOME!" came out in a wave. I laughed thinking Chuck didn't know about this either, he looked dumbfounded to, He weakly waved at all the people.

"Hi. Um wow this is amazing but we're all pretty tired." he said and I looked at him and quickly agreed by nodding. Iva protested. She wanted to party. I laughed and joined the crowd of people that was the living room and stopped to think, I'm the luckiest girl in the world.
