You and I [Elounor] ON HOLD

You and I.
We don't wanna be like them.
We can make it 'til the end.
Nothing can come between
You and I.
Not even the Gods above
Can separate the two of us.
No, nothing can come between
You and I.

3. Chapter Two

Louis’s POV

I was scrolling through Twitter, scared to look at anything about One Direction. I was scared that everyone would hate Eleanor, and indirectly me, and I don’t want that. Once I got over my fear, I took quick glances, cringing at the rude and hateful ones, and smiling at the very rare, nice ones.

One really stood out for me though.

I laughed at that one, and smiled because they loved me and Eleanor. And normally, with every hateful tweet, there are at least ten nice ones, but now, it’s flipped around. With every one nice tweet, there’s at least ten hateful tweets. They all call her a slut, attention whore, beard, that she’s using me, and then they add Larry at the end.

@Louis_Tomlinson: Nothing can come between You and I.

“Not even the gods above, can separate the two of us. Nothing can come between You and I,” I quietly sung.

“Hey Louis!” Eleanor’s perky voice rang through my flat.

“Hi love.” I got up to greet her. “How are you today?”

I kissed her lips quickly and started to take off her coat.

“Wet. It’s pouring outside! I drove from the mall and got soaked in the ten seconds getting in and out if the car!”

I looked outside, and sure enough, it was pouring buckets. It’s not like it never rains in England, but it’s not like it’s continuously raining every day. This much rain isn’t rare, but it sure isn’t normal.

“It’s coming down hard out there!” I noted.

“Try driving in it! I could barely see anything! So what have you been up to?” She asked.

“Nothing much. I skimmed through Twitter earlier.”

“Did you see anything interesting?” Eleanor inquired.

“Nothing really. Just some stuff about us.”

“What type of stuff?”

“What is this, an interrogation? Just some stuff about you and I and the engagement! Which is a little over due, I mean, it was four days ago, and I did it in front of a bunch of fans.”

I walked over to the couch while pulling Eleanor with me. I sat down and pulled her onto my lap. I sneaked my arms around her waist and put my head on her shoulder.

“A lot of them probably spoke Spanish, so maybe they didn’t exactly understand.”

“You don’t have to speak English to know when someone proposes.”

“It’s a possibility!” She countered.

“Sure it is.” There was more sarcasm in my voice than rain outside.

“Oh, hey, let’s watch Mean Girls!” Eleanor exclaimed as she flicked through the channels on my TV.

“You’ve seen this movie three times in the past week!”

“It’s a good movie!”

“I’ll give you that.”

“Yes, now shut up!”

We watched the movie in silence. Nobody talked until the credits started rolling down the screen.

“How much hate was there?” Eleanor asked so quietly I almost didn’t hear her.

“Too much,” I whispered in her ear. “Too much.”

This erupted the tears. She started to tear up, and let the tears roll down her face, but she never once made a sound.

“No one deserves this. Especially not you. You are too nice, and sweet, and kind, and beautiful to deserve this. You’ve never done anything bad to deserve this.”

“Then why do they do this?” She hiccupped every now and then, but I could still understand her clearly. “Why do they hate on me?”

“Because they think that it will make a difference in our relationship! They think that doing this will make you give up, and give them the hope of them being with me, or a hope of Larry becoming real. They’re just bullies that don’t hurt you physically. They get that kind of power from calling you ugly, or a whore, or anything else. They’re just little ol’ thirteen year olds who probably get bullied themselves, and take out their stress on other people.”

“But why me? Why not everyone else? Why not Sophia and Perrie? Why just me?”

“It’s not just you. It is Sophia and Perrie, and even me, Harry, Liam, Zayn, and Niall! But with us, they don’t hate me, but they like me and Harry better, so they just instantly hate you, before they even think about liking you.”

“I just want it to stop! Everyone calls me fat, and ugly, and a whore, and tell me to kill myself, and say that I’m using you, and I try not to listen to them, but when it’s all you hear, it’s hard not to!”

“Let me show you something.” I took out my phone, opened Twitter and went back to the tweet that made me happy. “Do you see this? It’s not everyone. Quite a few people love us, and so many more support us! It’s Liam and Sophia that no one likes!”

“Why is that?”

“Well you know how Liam and Danielle were together, then broke up, then got back together, then got Loki? Well, all of that, made people love them together, so when they broke, it was terrible, and then Liam got with Sophia which made it worse. Then there was the rumor of them breaking up, which gave them hope. But they never broke up, and then there was the rumor of Sophia being pregnant, and now, the fans just hate her, because of all the shit that’s happened with them together.”

“That seems complicated.”

“Not if you stay on top of everything! But don’t worry about the hate. I will report everyone I see being rude, and will be mentioning it at the interview tomorrow. But remember, nothing can come between you and I.”

I spent the rest of the day watching TV with Eleanor. I had missed her a lot on tour, so I never took our time for granted. Whenever we could, we would always be together, whether we were doing something productive, or something stupid. As long as we were together, it didn’t matter. And the longer we were together, the closer we got, even though we were already close. Nothing could break us apart, no matter what.

By the next morning, we had almost pulled and all- nighter. We fell asleep at three in the morning, and we woke up at five, due to Liam pounding at my door as a wakeup call. I tried to ignore him, but he woke up Eleanor while doing so, and she shook me awake.

“I’m so tired,” I complained, resting my head on the window in the back of the van.

“Well if you had actually gone to bed, it wouldn’t have been a problem.”

“Well excuse me for trying to spend more time with Eleanor, as we just had a tour and I barely got to talk to her!”

“You’re cranky when you’re tired,” Liam noted.

“You don’t say!” I made sure to use enough sarcasm so even a baby would understand it.

“Well snap out of it. This interview is important, and if you’re cranky, people will think that this is your natural self, and they won’t like you.”

“Yeah, yeah, no being cranky. Got it. Good night!”

My I closed my eyes and tried to sleep, but I just couldn’t. Maybe it was all of the noise, or the uncomfortable window as my pillow. All I knew is that I just couldn’t fall asleep. Maybe the nerves were getting to me. I knew it was important. I went over every option in my head until the van came to a stop. I looked out and saw screaming fans everywhere.

“Oh dear god,” I said.

“Prepare to go deaf, lads!” Niall joked. At least I think he was joking.

One by one, we stepped out of the van and onto the ground that was covered with fans. I was a little upset that we didn’t get to take pictures or even say hi, but we had somewhere to be and we don’t want to be mauled before an interview. Eleanor wouldn’t like it if I was.

“So, boys, we know you have them. What’s the deal with your love lives nowadays?” The interviewer, I think his name was David, asked. “Who’s single?”

Harry’s the only one to raise his hand.

“All of you boys spoken for? Just remind me, who are these lucky ladies?”

“I’m dating Sophia,” Liam said.

“I’m engaged to Perrie.”

“My girlfriend is Emily.”

“Whatever happened to Harry?” I asked Niall. “I thought you had something special!”

“We wanted different things.” Niall went along with the act. “He wanted a farm, I wanted MacDonalds, it just didn’t work! Oh, how my heart aches!”

“Louis? Who is your lovely lady?”

“My wonderful fiancée is Eleanor Calder.”

“Oh, yes, you proposed at a concert in Madrid!”

“Yeah, it was really nerve wracking, but worth it in the end.”

“Now you told us you have something you would like to address to the fans?”

“Yeah. It’s about Eleanor and I. Lately, there’s been a lot of hate going around on Twitter, and probably other places too. It hurts, to see everyone attacking someone I love, just for loving me. What you’ve been doing is cyberbullying. Just because you don’t know someone personally, doesn’t make it any better. And please, stop with the rumors. I’m getting married, and Harry is Harry. Larry is fake. It was never real. So please, stop telling Eleanor to kill herself just because you think Larry is real. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, and I respect that, but this has gone overboard. It’s too much. I understand that you think Harry and I are real, but we’re not, and it’s gone to the point of no return. Please, just stop with all of the nonsense. Thank you.”
