1. Prologue

It was a snowy night on the 20th of December and the dark sky cast itself over the small town of Moonville, so named because unlike any other town or city in the world, every night was a full moon. 5 days ‘till the worst day of the year for the teenagers of the small unusual town and the person looking less forward to it was a young looking 15 year old girl.

With bright blue and strange brown hair that grew to just above her shoulders and curled outwards. Her thin block fringe covered her forehead and stopped just above her piercing eyes. She wasn't a skinny girl but she wasn't huge either, she had a just over average weight and her height was smaller than anyone of the other teens in the town. Alaska Simons wasn't what people expected for a vampire but it’s what they were stuck with. A small: but strong teenage girl whose fate rested in the hands of the town was all they had.

Alaska walked the streets of the cold town with nothing but the clothes on her back and a red cloak with a hood, the hem of the skirt and hood were embroidered with a silver leaf pattern and the jeans and t-shirt she wore under it was hidden by the velvet material. The freezing air blew onto her face blowing the hood down and flowing through her thick hair. She hugged herself and and walked farther around the town ‘till reaching the gates. Huge, grey iron gates that joined the tall walls of the town together. It was the only entrance to the town and the only exit, which no one ever used… Until tonight.

The blue eyed girl pushed the giant iron decorated gate open just enough for her short frame to fit through. The animal shapes on the gate, which were made of gold twinkled in the moonlight as she shut the gate quietly behind her and she glanced up at a small bat shape bent from gold on the gate before lifting her hood up on her cloak and turning away from the gates. With one quick glance to her sides she finally established it was safe and walked at a fast pace to get away from her destiny, her fate, her life.
