Jessica dragged Lani into a big conference like room.  She slammed her down into a chair and then stalked back up to the front of the room.

"Why?" Her eyes were incredulous and her hands were spread put wide, "Why would you do such a thing? Charis was our most faithful cabinet minister of all time! Now she's in the cold, grey concrete outside. HOW COULD YOU?" Her voice suddenly increased in volume and Lani winced. She didn't know how to answer it. Should she tell the truth? She would at least get away from the bore of this place. But then she thought of the real reason she had murdered her.

Lani had killed Charis because she had been helping her into her office when she had seen a piece of paper with the words 'Factionless are all Divergent'. Lani was not the only one after all, but if only Charis knew, then it would have to stay that way forever. Charis could not have been left to kill off all the Divergents in society. So Lani had to kill off the Divergent hater in society.

"Because...because I can't live here. I can't stick with all this stuff, I can't bear it. It's so dull and I needed to get out but I'd never be kicked out for something tiny, so it had to be big." Lani realised as she said it that it was a terrible reason to kill someone. But at least it was a lie that she could keep up.

"But that wasn't your only crime now, was it?" Jessica leant forward.

"No...but I was so hungry! One slice of toast was barely enough to feed a mouse!" Lani shouted angrily.

"But the Abnegation are as peaceful and quiet as the mice." And Jessica then brought out a long pole from her black boot. She wore these boots to show her authority and they had served her well today.

"I now banish you from the sacred lands of the Abnegation. The Factionless will be your new home and family. I hope to never hear of you again but if I do, I will make sure that your head is hung on a spike outside the government headquarters! DO YOU UNDERSTAND?" She boomed, her head rising up.

"Yes." Lani stood up and walked out of the room. When she reached the foyer she didn't hesitate as she pushed open the doors. It was hailing outside, but that didn't disrupt her purposeful march. She reached the main exit gates, and without so much as a look behind her, she swung them open and strode away from the grey and into the colour.
