Rebellious Rebellious Veronica

- "Just tell me what I have to do. Just tell me. Please! I-- I don't know... I don't remember anything! None of this nonsense you guys are making me believe.
Maybe, I don't know the rights and wrongs as I think I do right now. I'm begging you, just please tell me, guide me or something! Give me directions. I can't do this on my own."
"Believing what's right isn't enough Vera. You have to remember. Because if you don't, no one will or can tolerate a fake act."

Chapter 12

"Is the little girl awake yet?" A tired and rough loud voice said.

"Father! She's not a little girl! She's a lady..." A younger voice hissed.

I couldn't help but smile. It was funny.

I turned around in my bed. I was 97% unconscious.

It wasn't long before I woke up though. Max caressed my face and specially my nose with a white feather. Now that is fun for him. He found it amusing that I didn't wake up right away. Yes, it is amusing.

He purposely sticked it inside my nose, and I got up in rage.

He laughed. I hit him hard in his shoulder. I never had realized how tough his body was. So many... Muscles. I shook my head and touched my eyes and pushed my hair back.

"Good morning sunshine." He said laying back in his chair, bringing his arms up and putting the feather up in his head.

Oh really? Because last time I recall, just a few hours ago actually, you were referring me as lady or Miss.

"Oh! My deary!" A women dressed in a white and sky blue apron came in.

For the first time I noticed Max's feather and my thoughts when I thought I was in heaven and he was my caregiver/Angel. How stupidly stupid!

But, I'm still not quiet sure that all that isn't true...

"How do you feel?" She asked smiling and leading me out of the room.

"Very fine." I said encouragingly, retuning her smile.

"Glad to hear so. My name is Lessy."

"Oh, Lessy. I'm Veronica."

"Yes, yes. Now, let's take you to the bathroom and get you cleaned up now." We walked with her hand in my back.

She was small in a blue maids apron. Short curly brown hair held back by pins there and there. She wore black leggings with short black heels to match with. She was a little chubby, but a pretty chubby. And above all, she was nice. Genuine.

She took me to the bathroom and guided me to take a bath. It felt very nice. Warm water running down me. But, my stomach growled and to satisfy my tiny stomach I didn't take my time in having a pleasure. I couldn't anyway really, if you ask me.

There was a set of nice warm and comfortable clothes set in the counter by the shower. I switched into them.

A knock came in the door after I'd brushed my wet dark hair.

"Veronica?"

"Yes." I replied, opening the door. For I knew that voice only belonged to a women.

"Are you ready?"

"Yep."

"Alright then, you better come off to breakfast missy."

"Yes I'm here." I said giving a small laugh.

I opened the door and...

Terror. Horror! Fear. Anger. Confusion. Tricked am I?!

Max backs away from the door he was leaning against on.

He only holds a satisfied smile on his stretched face.

"You're going to be some annoying brother are you now?" I said in annoyance, with eyebrows arching inwards madly.

"You called it." He smiled.

Hitting him was not even worth it.

"So... What was that?" I asked very curiously.

"Now that is my friend."

I crossed my arms, standing on one feet.

"I have this talent...." He continued, turning his head back a little as if not sure how he should say it. "It's a secret..."

"Hmm." Was all I said.

He looked at me sternly, "That's all you're going to say?"

"What do you want me to say?"

"Oh, something maybe along the lines of 'I can keep a secret' or 'You can trust me.'" He said ironically.

"Maybe I can't keep a secret." I turned him upside down with joy.

"Fine," He stiffened. "I can change my voice and act like another character." He blows out a breath.

"Oh, so Lessy is a character mind you?"

"No... I'm sorry I didn't mean it that way."

"It used to be called a Seiyu in Japan or just a cartoon voice-over." I said unsurly.

He nodded, looking deeply into my eyes. I looked down.

Lessy came, "Oh oh! I left you alone for half an hour and look at you!" She sweeped Max away.

He walked down the hall ever so slowly and without protest, turning his pink cheek and looking behind him.
