10. Is He back *click* Or naw?

She sat perched on the edge of the hotel room bed, chewing on her lip nervously. The concert had ended, and the boys were on their way. The thing is, they were taking longer than she had expected.

Obviously, she wasn't supposed to be there. The band were supposed to have forgotten about her, rather than keeping her with them in secret. The fact that she was a liability to the entire band-- and to their opening act, who she hadn't met yet-- made her sick to her stomach. They could get in serious trouble for even speaking to her, and still she sat perched on the edge of one of their beds. Stupid, if you ask me.

About half an hour later, the boys arrived. Every single one of them looked absolutely exhausted, yet somehow content. All of them filed into the room, along with four boys that she had never seen before. She was soon introduced to them as their opening act, 5 Seconds of Summer.

One of them was tall and quite good looking, with a lip piercing. Another had curiously dyed hair that she guessed he liked to change a lot. Another had jet black hair that wasn't styled, but he didn't seem to need to style it at all. Finally, was the one with the bandanna and unruly hair. Luke, Michael, Calum, and Ashton.

Every single one of them filed into the room, all giving her either small smiles or slight waves. The sight of the new boys made her nervous.

"Um.. Niall? Do they know that I'm not really.. you know.."

"Not supposed to be here? Ya, they do." He replied nonchalantly.

She nodded, finally beginning to relax. Her eyes shifted from boy to boy, only skimming over Liam.

"How was the concert?" She attempted to sound as casual as possible. At this, a few of the tired boys perked up. They were gathered around the room, some on a couple beds, a few on the couches.

"Amazing," Breathed out Luke. His voice alone made her shudder.

"Man, I missed that!" Someone said from somewhere within the room. "Performing gives me such a rush..I love it." Mainly people from the 5SOS band exclaimed how amazing the concert was.

"Hey, Ashton. You should call Ali, and see how she's doing. She didn't look too great after the show."

"Yeah, you're right." The very muscular boy stepped out of the room, his phone at the ready. He seemed eager to call whoever it was.

She leaned over to Harry, who was lazily relaxing on the same bed she was.

"Who's Ali?" Her voice was curious, just like her thoughts.

"Oh, it's Ashton's girl. She seemed a little.. I don't know, she didn't seem like herself after the concert. Ali is usually light and happy, like Ashton. That's why he's calling."

Her lips curled and tugged at the corners, processing the information. it wasn't too much to process, so she quickly nodded and accepted the answer. Soon after that, Ashton came back into the room, not exactly looking happy. He was muttering something that she wasn't able to comprehend, pacing back and forth.

"Ash, what's wrong mate?"

"Someone called her fat. She's not fat! They apparently said some... some rude ass stuff I don't know." His eyes were directed towards the ground as he paced, running his hands nervously through his hair.

"Is.. is he always this mad?" She asked, causing Luke to shake his head.

"Never." He replied. Luke chuckled a little. "He's just a little protective over Ali. Just like I'm protective over my girl, Mya."

                                                                        ************************

The two bands had different rooms, but they were connected. All night long, the door was held open and the groups talked and laughed for a while, until they went to sleep. The door was still open, but the entire place was deeply enveloped in comfortable silence.

At about 2:30 in the morning, she was awoke by a small noise that sounded like a door closing. Not being able to see in the dark, her eyes were still closed and she listened to the situation. Her heart was thumping, but the only thing that she was able to make out was a couple of groggy voices and duvets moving. A small chuckle could be heard from the other room, and she was soon back in her cocoon of deep sleep.

The sun peeking through the think curtains awoke her. Her messy hair was quickly tied up into a messy bun, and her eyes scanned the room for any sign of another conscious person. She saw none, and decided to head into the bathroom. Since the one in her room was absolutely trashed, she silently made her way into the other band's room. On her way through, she saw a girl tucked tightly into Ashton's chest.

The girl closely resembled her, but there were some key differences. Ali's messy, curly blonde hair was a bit thicker than hers, and Ali's hips were a little fuller. Also, Ali seemed a bit shorter, kind of in a cute way, though not too much shorter.

She took a quick shower, her hair quickly getting dried and her clothes quickly draped over her. She examined herself in the mirror, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. Truth be told, she was really glad that the boys had bought her new clothes. As usual, she didn't put any make-up on. After she exited the bathroom, still no one else was awake, or at least she thought so, on her way past, she herd a small groan and saw Ali stir. Their eyes met. Ali waved lazily and mumbled a small,

"Morning."

She nodded in response and walked back into her own room. Deciding to tidy up, she tied her hair into a pony tail-- which was now straight-- and started to pick up the place. It took her a good 45 minutes to do a complete clean up of the bathroom, but only about half an hour to do a good clean on the bedroom. By then, everyone was awake. She was officially introduced to Ali, who also wasn't supposed to be there. She got along with Ali really well.

"Breakfast, anyone?"

Everyone soon went down the the lobby to grab the complimentary breakfast. She ended up sitting at a table with Ashton, Ali, Niall, Luke, and a girl that she hadn't seen yet. The girl was gorgeous; She had medium length brown hair, dip dyed red. Her green eyes were piercing, though her features were soft and kind. Her freckles were light, and quite adorable. She was kind of short, but pulled it off well, with defined curves. She was introduced to her as Mya. Apparently, as she guessed, Mya and Ali were best friends.

Almost everyone was having cereal, except Mya; who had her head resting on the table and was probably asleep again. And Ali, who was eating a banana. Ashton lightly poked her cheek, causing her to giggle. That began an entire war between the two. Luke had his arm wrapped around Mya, who instinctively tucked closer into him. She and Niall sat side by side, eating silently except for the small jokes every once in a while.

After breakfast, and after everyone was showered, they were all laying around the rooms and trying to decide what to do. Eventually, they basically decided just to relax until their concert, which was happening late that night. Ashton and Ali decided to go and get McDonald's, as they were still hungry. Luke, Mya, Calum, and Michael all watched a movie, accompanied by Harry, Louis, Niall, and Zayn. She decided do wander for a bit, just wanting to go for a walk.

She was down the hall from the pool, when she spotted Liam. She stood frozen, unsure of whether or not to move towards him or away from him. He made the choice for her, by practically cornering her. His hands were stuffed into his pockets, his shoulder slouched nervously.

"So.. hey."

"Hi." She replied softly.

"Okay.. I'm gonna blurt it out.. what exactly.. are we?"

"What do you mean?"

"I mean, " He sighed, "Are we like.. d-dating?" Her heart thumps at the question, feeling her cheeks go red a bit. After a long moment of silence, she replies finally.

"Um, I.. I don't think so. I think that it would be a lot better to be just friends right now."

Liam took a small step back and nodded. "Sure. That sounds fine."

To be honest, she didn't really think of Liam in that way. When she kissed him on the bus, it was out of pure adrenalin. When she saw how Luke and Mya were around each other, along with Ashton and Ali, she realized what kind of relationship she wanted. A cute, playful one, but also a caring and sweet one. Somehow, she couldn't quite see herself finding that with Liam.

After the awkward incident with Liam, she decided to go for a walk. Her hair was gently blown back by the wind, a small, relaxed sigh slipping from her lips. Suddenly, her wrist was gripped, surprisingly gently, and she was spun around. Her eyes locked with someone's, panic coursing through her veins. Once she realized who it was, she threw her arms around him.

"Zero.." She breathed into his neck. His arms wrapped around her waist briefly, tenderly. She pulled back and examined him. "What are you doing here? How did you even get here?"

"I hitched rides with some people after that guy took you. I followed you, although it took me a while. I just got here. I saw you by pure chance..I'm glad I did." He replied, holding eye contact with her while he spoke. They'd really grown close that month and a half that they were traveling together.

"I don't know what to say.. I can't believe that you're here!" She smiled widely, causing him to smile in return.

After a few minutes of talking, she suggested something that she didn't even expect herself to say.

"How about tonight, after everyone is asleep, I'll sneak you into the hotel room? You could sleep in the bathroom or something. Or I could get you up early. I think that you deserve to sleep somewhere other than an alley for once, huh?" She smiled, a small smirk pulling the corner of her lip.

"Y-You know... that would be awesome. Although, I don't know how I feel about spending the night in a room with.. them." His lips pursed as he said the words, as if they were sour on his tongue.

"They're really nice, Zero."

"Yeah," He scoffed "And the last few months for us has been a joy ride."

"C'mon. Give them a chance..."

"No." He was firm, and gave no explanation as to why he was so bitter against them.

"Whatever. Just.. at least accept my offer? I don't want you sleeping out here tonight." He sighed and rolled his eyes, but eventually nodded.

"Okay. We'll do that."

After about 15 minutes later, they parted ways. They'd arranged what they would do tonight to sneak him into the room, and caught up on a couple other things. She moved up into the room and quietly sat down on one of the couches.

"Where have you been?" Zayn questioned, raising an eyebrow.  She shrugged.

"I went for a walk, no big deal."

Honestly, it was a big deal, but she didn't say that.
