This is a poem about discrimination of people in wheelchairs. I hope you learn something from it, and please comment as to what you think of it! Enjoy.

1. Ignorance

They cast her out,

Her two wheels rolling out of town,

Pushing her away with their glares,

Shoving her about with their taunts.

But at least they saw her.

The cruellest were the ordinary people,

The ones with their heads pointing down,

Shooting her down with their ignorance,

Punching her hard with their denial.

To them she was an alien.

But to me she was everything,

Her smile beaming all around,

Stunning me with her wisdom,

Amazing me with her optimism.

To me, she was the only normal person out there.
