7. Seven

The morning of December 15th.

This trip was going to change everything between Louis and I. This was the time we would find out if it was meant to be, if it was I could only imagine things would get more serious between us. Michelle and I were meeting Louis at the airport. He had agreed to let us take the private jet.

I carried all the bags out to my car and piled them into the back. I did a few last minute checks around the house to make sure we had everything. I put my purse on my shoulder and starting out the door. I hopped into the car and turned on the heat. It was freezing this time of year.

"I'm nervous about flying," Michelle said looking at me teary eyed.

"It's going to be okay. I've flown a few times before," I said, "The trip only takes about an hour. Maybe a little more."

"What's it like in there?"

"I don't know. I've never been in a private jet before."

We continued to talk about airports and what planes were like the entire way to the airport. When we arrived at the private gate towards the back, we were helped unload our bags by a worker name Arthur. He took all of the bags out for us and then took my car to park it. Louis met us at the counter to check our luggages to the plane.

After going through that chaotic process it was time to board the plane. Louis and I walked hand in hand out to where the plane was waiting for us. He had on my favorite outfit of his today. Jeans, his Boy London sweatshirt, and a grey beanie.

We all boarded the plane and sat down in the recliner chairs. Michelle and I were both taken by how nice this plane was. Louis got us both drinks. He handed Michelle a can of coke and handed me a glass of scotch. This drinking habit of mine was only becoming worse and worse.

It wasn't long until it was time for the plane to take off. Michelle was nervous and asked that Lou and I hold her hand until it was over. The plane took off smoothly and we were in the air.

We got off the plane and waited inside for our bags to come to us. Someone helped us carry the bags to our rental car we had waiting for us outside. It was a black Range Rover just like mine. I helped Louis load the bags into the back of the car and we were on the way to the hotel. We were dropping off our things first since the hotel was closer than Louis' house.

Louis had booked us a penthouse suite. The room was gigantic and had a gorgeous view. I insisted that we get a smaller room but he insisted that this trip be spent the right way. We carried our bags into the bedroom and sat them down. We decided to unpack tonight when we were rid of Michelle for the night.

When we arrived at Louis' house, there was a woman sitting in a chair on the porch. Louis had told me that was his mom. We hopped out of the car and grabbed Michelle's bags and sat them on the porch. Louis hugged his mom and introduced me to her, "This is Layne."

She gave me a hug, "I've heard so much about you. It's a pleasure to meet you."

"Likewise," I said smiling.

Louis took my hand as we walked inside of what use to be his home. There were pictures of him as a kid all over the walls. He was adorable. Louis' sisters were sitting on the couch. He took Michelle over to them and introduced her to them.

While the kids were playing around, Louis took the time to introduce me to his stepdad, Mark.

"Louis has told us so much about you," He said giving me a hug.

"So I've heard," I said laughing, "It's nice to finally meet you."

We sat around the house all getting to know each other a little better for a while. Louis and I decided that we would go do a little Christmas shopping while Michelle was with his parents. As we walked out of the front door Johannah pulled me aside, "I'm so glad Louis finally has someone like you."

"I'm glad I have someone like him. He's great," I said smiling.

I gave her a hug and hopped into the car. It didn't seem like there would be a mall in this town. It was small. Louis and I drove an hour out of town to find a decent shopping mall. The one we found had a ton of great stores.

The first store we went in was Tiffany and Co. Michelle had picked out a pair of earrings she wanted. They were just plain silver with Tiffany and Co written on them. I decided to go ahead and look around the store while we were here. I came upon a box of what seemed like engagement rings, not that I was looking to get married anytime soon or anything. There was a gorgeous band in the box. It was thin and silver and encrusted with small diamonds.

Louis saw me looking into the box and came walking over to me. Once he noticed what was in the box, he looked at me with a strange face, "Why are you over here?"

"Don't get the wrong idea babe. I was just looking. They are all so pretty," I pointed to the band that I liked, "Look how pretty that is."

I handed the woman and the register the earrings I wanted and paid for them, leaving the store. The last thing Michelle told me she wanted was a sweater from Jack Wills. I loved Jack Wills sweaters. I walked in the store alone. Louis told me he had to go to the bathroom.

Louis POV

I walked back into the Tiffany store in secret. I told Layne I had to go to the bathroom. I opened the front door to the store and walked back over to the counter with the rings in them.

"Can I help you with anything?" A lady asked me politely.

"Yes I need to get this ring in a size 6," I said pointing to the ring Layne showed me.

The lady who's name was Shannon cleaned the ring and placed in into a box and handed it to me. I told her how I was surprising Layne. I put the ring in my pocket and walked back over to Jack Wills. Layne was sitting on a bench waiting on me.

"I still need to get Michelle something," I said.

"You don't have to do that," she said, "I can just say this is from us."

It was getting late. The mall was to be closing soon. Layne and I walked back out to the car and started our ride back to Doncaster.

"So what do you want from me?" I asked.

"I don't need anything love," she said smiling, "I already have you. That's better than anything you could buy me."

I still couldn't come to realize how lucky I was to be with Layne. She was so down to earth and loved me for me, not because I was in One Direction. That meant more to me than anything, that she saw me for the person I really was. I grabbed her hand and kissed the top of it, "I love you so much."

"I love you too honey," she said.

The ride back was quite boring. Layne had fallen asleep on my shoulder. The ride back felt like forever because honestly, I didn't want to go back. I loved my family and all but I was enjoying my time alone with Layne.

When we arrived back at the hotel, Layne was still sound asleep. I didn't want to wake her so I decided to carry her back into the room. I softly picked her up and carried her through the front door of the building. I had to wake her up when we got up to the room because she had the key. She slid the key into the door and we walked inside.

She immediately walked back into the bedroom and changed into her night time clothes. I followed her. She had taken one of my t-shirts and climbed into the bed. I climbed in the bed beside her and wrapped my arms around her. She looked me in the eyes and kissed me passionately. We continued to kiss and one thing led to another. We made love into the night making the bond between us stronger and stronger.

Layne had fallen asleep in my arms. I couldn't sleep, there were too many things on my mind from recording the album to my relationship with Layne. I pulled my phone off of the nightstand and logged into twitter. Of course I had a ton of mentions, I always did. I decided to read some of them.

All of the tweets were negative and rude. And they were all about Layne. Some said things like: Layne isn't even pretty, She is going to be the one to break up 1D for good, She is worthless. I was horrified at the things I was reading. I was only getting more angry as I scrolled through more tweets. I decided it would be a good idea to put my phone away and try to go to sleep.
