Layne's POV

I woke up still wrapped in Louis' embrace. He kissed me on the nose and looked into my eyes, "Good morning honey."

"Good morning," I smiled giving him a light peck on the lips.

"What do you want to do today?" He asked.

"Well, I need to buy you something for your birthday and Christmas," I smiled.

"I need to buy you something for your birthday and Christmas," He smiled, "Your birthday is three days after mine. December 27th."

"I know. I know," I said, "You know what I like if you insist on buying me something."

With that I got out of the bed and hopped into the shower. I was exhausted. Traveling always wore me out. After taking a shower, I slipped on a robe and did my usual beauty routine. I straightened my hair today, I was surprised at how long my hair had gotten. I couldn't remember the last time I had straightened my hair. I brushed on brown eyeshadow and put a burgundy color in the crease.

I walked back into the bedroom to give Louis a chance to get in the bathroom. I completely forgot about him, whoops. I walked over to my suitcase and pulled out a red sweater, jeans, and a pair of combat boots. I got dressed and sat down on the bed. I plugged my phone into the hotel alarm clock and played my music out of it. I couldn't resist singing along with my favorite song.

"This town is colder now, I think it's sick of us
It's time to make our move, I'm shaking off the rust
I've got my heart set on anywhere but here
I'm staring down myself, counting up the years
Steady hands, just take the wheel.
And every glance is killing me
Time to make one last appeal for the life I lead"

Louis came walking back into the room in awe, "I didn't know you were such a good singer Layne."

"I didn't know people actually thought I was good," I laughed, "My mom and my dad were both great singers."

"Do you want to eat breakfast here?" Louis asked.

"Yeah, let me grab my purse," I said.

I grabbed my purse as Louis put on his shirt and we walked down to the lobby. There was a big buffet style breakfast. We got our food and sat down at the table. There were girls everywhere just staring at Louis. A few came over to the table and asked for a picture with Louis. He was starting to get annoyed.

"Excuse me," A young girl said, "I was wondering if I could get a picture with you and Layne."

How did she know who I was?

"Of course," Louis said. We stood up while the girls mom took a picture of us.

We finished our food and headed out to our car. I didn't know where we were going, but I assumed we were going to finish some shopping. We arrived at the shopping mall once again and got out of the car.

"You know if we go shopping together it isn't going to be a surprise," I said.

"Let's split up then," Louis said, "Call ya later babe."

He kissed me and we parted ways. This was going to be difficult. Louis was so picky about his clothes. The first store I went into was Yves Saint Laurent. I picked up a grey sweater with black sleeves along with a plaid shirt and bought it for him.

"Can you wrap this up please? It's a birthday present," I said.

"Of course," the young girl working said, "You're Layne Carter right?"

"Yes," I said shocked, "how do you know who I am?"

"You're dating Louis Tomlinson. Everyone knows who you are."

She handed me the box in a bag and I was on to the next store. I stopped in Selfridges and picked him up a Boy London shirt and bought that. I also had it gift wrapped. I was finally done shopping for Louis after I picked up a card. I grabbed a pen and wrote in the card:

"Happy Birthday and Merry Christmas babe. I love you so much. You are my world. I know we've only been together a little over a month but you are everything. I hope that I make you as happy as you make me. I am the luckiest girl in the world to have such a caring boyfriend. You are everything I've ever dreamed of. This is our first Christmas spent together and I hope there are many more to celebrate with you.

Yours Truly,

Layne Carter"

I called Louis and met back up with him. He had a few bags in his hand from Yves Saint Laurent, Topshop, Miss Selfridge, Lipsy London, and Burberry. I didn't want him spending that much money on me but I didn't say anything. We carried the bags to the car and put them in the back. We drove the hour long drive but this time back to Louis' house.

We carried our bags inside and put them under the tree together. There were many gifts under the tree already. We walked into the kitchen where Johannah was cooking a late lunch for the girls.

"Hi mom," Louis said kissing her on the cheek.

"It's good to see you again Johannah," I said.

"It's good to see you too Layne," she said, "I was thinking I could take you shopping tonight. Would you want to help me shop for the girls?"

"I would love to," I smiled.

"It gives us an opportunity to get to know each other better." She said, "After we eat lunch we can head out."

I nodded and headed into Lottie's bedroom where all the girls were watching TV. I sat down in the floor with them.

"I didn't get to introduce myself yesterday," I said, "I'm Layne."
They all smiled and introduced themselves to me. They seemed like genially nice girls. I sat in there talking to them until lunch was finished cooking. We walked into the kitchen to see what Johannah had been cooking. She had prepared a baked manicotti with a side salad. We all got a plate and dug in.

"This is fantastic," I said to Johannah.

"Thank you dear," She said.

Johannah and I got into Lou and I's Range Rover and drove back to the mall. I really liked Johannah, she was such a sweet lady.

"So how did you and Louis meet?" She asked.

"Well, we were talking on the app Chatter. If you aren't familiar with it, it is an anonymous chatting system. I just fell for him so quickly and we eventually met up," I smiled.

"So you didn't know who he was?" She asked.

"Not at all. I just knew his name was Louis. I didn't know he was the Louis from One Direction."

"I'm glad he found someone that cares about him for him, not just his name. A lot of girls try to be with him for his fame and I can tell you aren't like that."

"Not at all," I changed the subject, "Is Michelle giving you any trouble?"

"Not at all. She is such a sweet heart," She said, "So why do you watch after her so much if you don't mind me asking?"

"I have to keep her. I don't have parents. My dad died about two years ago and after that my mom just left us. They left us the house and money. That's it."

"That's horrible. If you ever need anyone to watch her I would be more than happy to keep her here. Just have Louis send her on the plane to me," She smiled.

"Thank you so much. I might just have to take you up on that sometime."

We arrived at the mall and walked back inside. We made our first stop in Topshop because apparently that was Lottie's favorite store. I picked out a few things for Johannah's approval and she bought them. We continued this process until most of the shopping was done.

"I want to pick Michelle up something as a welcoming gift into the family. What does she like?" Johannah asked.

"She likes Lipsy and Topshop," I said.

"We haven't been in Lipsy yet. Let's go in there," She suggested.

She picked her up a polka dotted blue top along with a black Lipsy London hoodie. I helped her carry the bags out to the car and we started our drive back home. It was already dark outside. I didn't think we had been in the mall that long but apparently we had.

When we arrived back at the house, the girls were all asleep. I helped Johannah place the bags under the tree and gave her a hug, "Thank you for coming with me." She said.

"Anytime. I enjoyed it," I said.
