The End. (a hunger games fan fiction)

*this is an exerpt from the story*
Tears rolled down my face. My voice dead, my mouth still in a wide 'o' from screaming. My ears were ringing, as I grasped for my life. I was going to die. I screamed for my mother, for my best friend. For anyone to answer. And all I got was nothing. As I grasped the air, I could feel my life slipping through my clenched fingers.
*Sorry if it's not as long as you would like. This is going quicker than I expected.*

9. Nine

The Capitol anthem goes off. I scoff at it, rolling my eyes that they were playing it. I look straight Into the sky, waiting for pictures. Both from seven, the girl from nine, and the boy from three. Yay. Still let's see... Nineteen more people to die. And as I'm watching that, I wonder what will happen if my team prevails in the end. I push that thought to the back of my head. I wouldn't kill them. And suddenly I hear rustling. I quickly turn around, knife in hand, only to see that Chase has woken up.

"Hey, get some sleep." He says, looking completely tired. I could see the gray rings under his eyes.

"What about you?" I ask, lowering the knife. He laughs silently, and then smiles.

"Good. I was scared for a second. That knife is really threatening. But I couldn't sleep anyway. And you've been awake for hours. I'll wake Seda up when I get tired, okay?" He asks, waiting for my approval.

"That would be great." I say, snuggling into the sleeping bag Joyce and I had to share. I closed my eyes, but dreamt the faces of all the dead tributes. I could hear them screaming, and eerily screaming out my name. 'IVY!' They scream. But I keep moving. Far far away, out of the arena, to where I saw Seda. She was on all fours, roaming around like a real wolf. Then suddenly I'm awake, the sound of a cannon ringing in my ears.

gabe is up, packing our stuff, dividing the packs.

"Careers not far. Meet at that tree. Girls go one way, boys go other." He says, taking half the bags. I saw him split it up. We both got fair amounts of everything. I quickly wake Joyce and Seda up.

"Careers are coming!" I whisper, no louder than the buzz of a fly. But still, they both rouse, and soon we're running, packs in arms, to the rendezvous point.

"this tree!" I say, and start climbing, despite my swollen arm. Soon, Joyce is following me, lightly moving, up to the top of the tree. And my arm breaks into agony. I take a second to look down, and see that a sharp piece of bark has pierced the bandage and reopened the wound.

"Oww!" I cover my mouth, but it has already escaped. The careers could be right around the corner. I omit ion for Seda to join us, to keep out of range of the Careers, yet she lifts a paw, and Joyce doesn't seem to know right away, but I do. Wolves can't climb trees. And suddenly, I panick. Seda can't climb! And then I realize that blood is pouring from my arm. A LOT of blood. And before I know it, I'm falling, blacked out.
