Last Christmas

We were awkwardly under the mistletoe outside the resturant. I didn't really want to look at him, because I was too shy. "Hey, why so shy?" Louis asked lifting my chin with one finger. There was those butterflies again. I shook my head, "Nothing." I replied quietly not looking up at the mistletoe. "Ah," he said, glancing up at it. "Mistletoe. I remember when you kissed me a little under it."
I crinkled up my nose, "Really? Gross." He laughed and bent to peck my lips. I felt a sudden rush.

5. Under The Mistletoe

{Louis}

I found Ivory the next morning at Starbucks, the  same table we were in together. I entered the store and sat across from her.

"Hey," I greeted her. Ivy grinned at me, playing with the necklace I gave her...13 years ago!

"You still have that?!" I asked. happily. "Of course. I never took it off. Unless I was swimming or something. Someone once stole it, but I found the thief." I smiled. I totally remember buying that for her:

Flashback

We were walking through Wesington Mall looking for gifts for friends and family. "Louis, why don't we pick something up for Ivory?" suggested Mum. I sighed and thought about Ivory and her beauiful face. Her braces this month were red and green. Any color fit her best.

Mum and I entered Tiffany & Co. There were so many things that I could buy for her. I wanted to buy her the whole store.

But there was a necklace that caught my eye; it was a heart necklace had the logo on it. I grabbed it and opened it since it was a locket.

"Hey mum, can this say 'From your favorite, Louis'?" I asked showing it to her. Mum smiled, "You fancy Ivory, eh?"

"Shhh...mum. Not so loud." I hissed. Mum chuckled and bought the necklace. The manager wrapped the necklace in a beautiful turqiouse box. "Thanks." I said. The manager winked at me.

End of  Flashback

Ivory and I ordered some coffee. "So, how was the date?"

I choked, "Bad. Hannah got mad because one, I forgot to get her a gift... and two because all I talked about was you." Ivory giggled.

"Yeah. When she got home, she was heated at me. Screaming  and yelling at me just because I knew you longer than her." she shrugged. "I like yesterday, though." I mumbled playing with my cup.

"You did?" she asked.

"Yeah. We could always try again, you know," I blushed. "Why not tonight? I'll take you out."

Ivory laughed, "It looked like you spent enough money." I chuckled.

That night I got ready.

Tonight was going to be fun. Hannah came in the room eating some Frosted Flakes. "Where are you going?" she asks, with a mouthful of cereal.

"Just somewhere..." I responded. "Really? With who?" She asked, more suspicious. "Just a friend. You don't know him." I grimaced. Taking off quite quickly, I called to her "I'll be back around 9:30!"

Louis was waiting for me.

"You made it. Did Hannah find out?" He asked, breathlessly. "She was getting very suspicious, but no." I replied. Louis and I entered the restaurant, arm in arm.

The restaurant was very elegant. It was decorated in fancy Christmas lights. The tables were draped in lavish velvet with beautiful lit candles in the centre.

Couples and other people were enjoying themselves. Louis led me to our table. It was in the middle of the whole restaurant, which seemed romantic. I took a seat in front of him. He sat the opposite side.

"This is great. I love what they did to the place."

"Yeah." A waitress came over politely to give us our menus. "Hello, welcome to Francis'. I'm Kim and I will be serving you tonight. Would you like to start with drinks?"

"Good times...Good times."

I laughed. "Oh yeah. Awesome times. Hey what time is it? Hannah might be expecting me home soon."

"It's 8:15. Why would she be expecting you home?" Louis asked. "Because I said that I'd be home around nine thirty." I told him. He shrugged, "We have all the time in the world, Ivy."

"I know,"

Josh Groban's "Believe" came on. Louis just sat there, looking really shy to ask me to dance. I cleared my throat, "Would you like to dance?" Louis looked up at me. Giving a hint of nothing but a smile, he nodded. Like the gentleman he really is, he got up and took my hand.

I stood up.We walked over to the dance floor and began slow dancing. His wintery blue eyes staring mine. It felt just like the night-

No. No old memories. It's time to create new ones.

"You know, tonight went better than expected." he smled. My cheeks flushed a little. "Of course. We're both here. As friends." I smiled back.

"Now that, that is something I want to talk about. We've been friends for 13 years and a week. Don't you think we should start a new chapter? Of just the both of us?" I raised an eyebrow, "What do you mean?"

"You know what I mean. After I left when we were playing yesterday, I heard you."

Oh no.

"No, you didn't." I said. "Of course I did. That's why I told you to come. So we could play for real."

I chewed on my bottom lip.

Watching him spin me around, I thought about what Hannah would say. She'd kill me, man.

He bent down to do it again, but this time I just held onto him to make it not just a peck, but a kiss.

A long, forever kiss.
