8. Chapter Eight

Winter was acting off.

Jeff noticed it before Slendy did. He'd asked Slenderman if he'd hurt her, and Slendy had replied no. They both had a mutual suspicion of what was going on with the girl of the group.

She was irritable, easy to cry, always hungry, and occasionally got violently ill. Jeff really hoped it wasn't what he thought it was.

"Winter, tell me the truth. What's going on?" he demanded one afternoon.

"I don't know what you're talking about." Winter replied, obviously lying.

"Bull! There's something going on between you and Slenderman, and something's happening with you. Tell me."

She had never seen Jeff this angry before. His pupils had dilated a bit, a sure sign he was losing control. She figured she'd better tell him, even if Slendy wasn't around as well to protect her.

"Jeff, I'm pregnant with Slendy's child."

Jeff was silent for a bit, and his pupils began to dilate enough that it was impossible to see the brown irises of his eyes. A twisted grin reached his face, only made more creepy by the scars.

"Jeff?" she asked fearfully, hoping for some recognition, any recognition. He'd never lost control so quickly and violently before.

Wordlessly, he pulled out his butcher knife.

"Jeff, calm down."

He didn't calm down. She backed away slowly. "Jeff, come on. You're still there. I know it. Please, don't lose control right now. Push the killer away. You've done it before."

He was still silent. He grabbed her and slammed her into the wall.

"Jeff, please." she begged. She was scared and quiet, about to cry.

"It's time for you to go to sleep."
