Writing with love - Friendzone

Love letters are kind of dated, they are not really written anymore. a simple letter written by hand and not some words on a printed out word document or like any others would send in a email now a days. no a real one, a genuine letter that gets you intrigued. that makes you want to know the person behind the words.

Allison writes a handwritten letter, after some serious talking her into it by her best friend. When she sends it to her favorite band member she didn't expect to get an answer. not at all in fact, because what world famous boy have time to write a letter right?

Liam has changed after the breakup with Sophia, he uncomfortable in crowds and more shy than before. He wants to change back to his old self but he doesn't know how. The boys get a box of fan stuff sent to the office and Liams eyes gets caught on a simple envelope with a all handwritten letters.
he feels like he need to answer it, so without the others noticing it he hides it and takes it home.

5. A new face

- Allison -

the day couldn't go any slower. it's not like we didn't have any costumers because we had, a lot of them today. my grandfather left me in charge and left for the day right after lunch so it was just me when the front door opened again right before closing time.

"we are about to close." I called without looking up from the papers and bills that I had to go through behind the counter.

"I'm looking for a book." the person said that had entered the store.

"well this is a book store so I guess that you are at the right place then." I shook my head looking up to see who had entered.

when I looked up it was this tall very handsome boy smiling back at me. his sandy blond hair was straight and drawn back from his face. he had dark-blue eyes and looked like a a football player with his wide shoulders. he drew his hand through his hair to get the snow out that had started to fall outside a while ago.

"so what book is it that you are looking for then?" I asked and left the counter to go help him.

"I'm looking for a like a cookbook or something, I just moved here and I don't have my mom making me lunchboxes anymore and I got to eat. I'm really bad at cooking so I need some guidance." he laughed.

"well, we do have some beginner cookbooks in the food area. I'll show you." I smiled and walked over to the area where we kept the food and cook books.

"just some basic stuff, nothing fancy." he mumbled and scratched his neck.

"so you are no Jamie Oliver then?" I giggled and pulled out some books he might buy.

"no, even if my nickname is Jamie. i'm not even in the same hemisphere as him I'm afraid." he chuckled.

"that bad?" I asked and handed him the books.

"yes." he smiled and looked through the pile I had given him and chose two out of the five of them.

"after those you will probably be much better." I said and pointed at the books.

"maybe I could try some of these bad cooking skills on you? I'm going to need a second opinion that is not my mother that will tell me i'm good, I need an honest one." he smiled.

I blinked my eyes and looked at him. was he flirting? with me? I looked behind me and then behind him before looking back at him. was he really asking me out? I couldn't believe that so I just ignored to answer it.

"what are you looking for?" he asked.

"I was just checking if there was anyone else in here that I had missed." I said.

"oh.." he trailed of.

"uhm, is there anything else I could help you with?" I asked and walked back to the counter.

"no, these will be just fine." He said and gave me the books to scan so I could get the price on them.

"That will be 5 pounds please." I said and put the books in a bag.

"uhm about the hole dinner thing, I'm sorry if I overstepped. you must have a boyfriend already." he said and handed me the money.

"what? no, you didn't. I just.. I'm not really the being asked type that's all and I don't have a boyfriend." I said and felt myself blush.

"why not? you're a pretty girl. Girls like you must have a tone of boys running after you." he looked genuinely surprised.

"uhm thank you, I grew up here. its everyone knows everyone here I'm afraid." I gave him the change.

"oh, but that doesn't make you less beautiful though." he smirked.

"thanks."

"I'm Jeremiah by the way, but everyone calls me Jamie." he said and held out his hand for a handshake.

"I'm Allison, nice to meet you." i said and shook it.

Jamie smiled and and walked backwards over to the door, he kept looking at me.

"i'll guess we could have that dinner some time then?" he asked.

"yeah, sure. Why not?" I said and waved like a dork as he left the store.

I couldn't believe that I probably actually got myself a date. I don't date, I have never been on one. I cleaned up in the store and locked up. when I got to my car I fished up my phone and called Miranda.

"talk to me!" she said as she answered on the other end.

"I think I might have a date."

"with Payno? nice writing, I told you he would fall for it." she asked and I could practically see her smile on her end.

"no, some new guy came into the store and asked me out actually." I told her as I closed the car door and started it.

"what?" she screamed.

I had to hold the phone on arms length as she kept the same volume when she continued.

"how did he ask? what's his name? how does he look like?"

"uhm, he just asked. Jamie. He looked cute I guess." I said.

"please say you are on your way here?" she asked.

"yeah, I'm driving of from work as we speak." I told her and drove out from the parking space.

"awesome, see you in a bit." she said and hung up.

I shook my head and concentrated on the traffic. it took me about 15 minutes before I made the last turn into Miranda's parents driveway.

I parked the car behind Miranda's mini cooper and got out, I made sure I had the letter with me as I walked up to front door. Miranda's dad was just leaving the house.

"Hey sweetheart, Miranda is in her room." he said as he unlocked his car.

"Thanks Mr T." I smiled and waved as he drove of, he worked the night shift at the gas station tonight.

I walked into the house and in the hallway it was a few boxes and bags. I guess Miranda was going to pack her entire house and ship it to America. I walked straight up the stairs and turned right into Miranda's room. It looked empty and Miranda was sitting on the floor folding some sweaters.

"best friend is in the house." I giggled and sat down opposite her on the floor.

"you have a lot to explain to me Alli." she said and stopped what she was doing and stared at me.

"what is there to explain? I got a letter and some new guy asked me out, in one day, end of story." I smiled.

"all in one day?" she asked.

"yeah, I'm as surprised as you are."  I gave her the letter to read.

"well I don't feel so bad for leaving you now." she smiled and handed the letter back after she read it.

"you don't need to feel that, I'll be fine." I told her.

"I know you will, you are my best friend and I just want you to be happy." she sighed and grabbed my hand.

"Miranda.. do you need any help?" I sighed before asking her that.

"yeah, those dresses needs folding." she smirked.

"I'm on it." I smiled.
