2. Just Great...

Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse.

"Ewe, look! It's Robyn Ad-snot!" A girl sneered behind me, causing the rest of her group to laugh.

Idiots. I thought, turning to go a different way. I coughed and let go of all my books as a boy tugged on the hood of my jacket, causing me to fall to the ground. The crown burst in laughter, I tried to grab my books but they kept kicking them all over the place. I gave up, string at my knees as they walked away.

"Retard." A girl named Victoria sneered, and her friend Melissa slapped my head with the side of her hand. I sighed, picking up all my books and making my way to my last period-Band. Victoria and Melissa have been bullying me since Junior High, I've never had the courage to stand up to them. No one ever had the heart to stick up for me either. I fought my tears as I went over to grab the door knob... WHAM!

A boy slammed the door open and hit it be right in the face. "Oww!" I yelled, cupping my nose as scarlet drops started to come out. He looked down at me and my face went red, he was hot. He was about to say something right when I got up and ran into the restroom nearby. I tilted my head over the sink, and did my best to stop the bleeding, I looked up and saw a big blue bruise above my eyebrow and frowned.

"So then this girl- Robyn?" I heard a laugh. "Is that you?" Victoria.

"N-no! Please don't." I pleaded when I saw her take out her phone. I waved my hands desperately in front of my face as I heard snaps of a camera.

"Oh my god, Robyn. You look even more horrible than you regularly do." Melissa laughed as she stepped beside Victoria, snickering. "Just wait until everyone sees this!"

I ran out of the bathroom, crying. That's when I crashed into someone and fell. I looked up and it was the boy that hit me with the door, just standing there. "Go ahead and make fun of me! I've had enough of that shit today already." I sobbed into my hands, and I felt two large arms wrap around me.

"Listen-"

"No!" I tried to shake him off. "Leave me alone!"

"Please just listen to me!" He said a little more fiercely, I stayed silent. He sighed. "I wanted to say sorry I hit you with the door, I really am." He had a thick Irish accent.

I didn't reply.

"Forgive me? It was accident." He held me out to look at my face, his blue eyes shone with apology.

I turned my head away, sniffing. "Why do you even care about me anyway?" I rubbed the bump above my eyebrow.

"Why wouldn't I?" My eyes widened.

"Are you new here or something?" I couldn't be love the fact that someone at this school actually cared about me.

He nodded. "Yup. I moved here about 3 weeks ago."

I gasped and stood up instantly, remembering that I left my things in the restroom with Victoria and Melissa. "Oh no." I turned and ran into the bathroom, leaving the boy alone in the hallway. I slammed the door open in the bathroom to see Victoria and Melissa going through my school things.

"Look who came along!" Melissa shouted, tossing my binder into the wet sink.

"Leave my things alone!" I practically squeaked, the just laughed and I felt them throw a heavy pencil bag at my face. That's when I heard the door swing open.

"Leave her alone." I heard the boy's familiar Irish accent. I looked over at Victoria to see her smirk turn straight into a innocent smile.

"Nialler! Babe," She giggled, pointing her finger at his chest and circling it around. "What are you doing here?"

"I'm helping her." He pointed at me and my face flushed, I turned away and reached quickly for my things and gathered them together.

"Why?" Melissa snorted and Victoria wrinkled her nose in disgust. Their faces quickly changed to shock as he reached down and helped me up.

"Let's go." He told me and I nodded, we both walked out. I smiled to myself, their faces where just priceless.

The guy- supposedly his name was Niall -wrapped his arms around me, which made others turn and stare.

Oh. Did I mention that he was one of the most popular guys in school? Only after being here for 3 weeks. I was too shocked to realize it was him since he'd helped me.

"What the hell? What are you doing with that thing, Niall?" One girl said, which made my head drop to the floor. Niall just ignored them and kept walking.

"Niall! Dude what are you up to?" One guy laughed. "Hey Robyn!" I looked up, though I shouldn't have. He help up the picture of me hurt in the bathroom that Victoria must've taken. It was posted all over twitter. My mouth gaped open and water and water started to form on the rim of my eyes.

I felt Niall tighten his grip around me. "Just ignore them, we'll be out in no time." He whispered in my ear and I nodded, sniffling.

We finally went outside, and after a few minuets of silence walking we finally reached his car. "Okay, we're here."

"Why do you park so far from the school." I asked.

"It's not that far." Niall pouted, which made me smile in amusement. "I don't like dealing with all the traffic." He looks down at me, he was a little taller. "So, your name?"

My eyes widened. "Oh- it's Robyn. Robyn Adkins." He grinned. "Yours?" I already knew, but I only asked to be polite.

"Niall. Niall Horan." He giggled and I did so afterward. "So do you need a drive home?" He offered.

"My mom is at work right now, I walk home so we both arrive at the same time." I replied.

"So you have extra time to do whatever?" He asked and I nodded.

"To walk home, yes." I turned to start walking home.

"Wait."

I faced him. "What?"

It looked like he was searching for some words. "Wanna hang out?" His eyes widened. "Maybe meet my friends?"

"Umm." He looked at him and shrugged. "What the heck. Sure."

He smiled brightly and opened the door to his car. "Well come in!"

I put my things in the back and got in, from the corner of my drive I could see him smiling the entire drive. What was he so happy about? I'd be lying if I said I wasn't happy to meet his friends. I was thankful for this drive, but my heart beat quickly was I wondered:

What if it was all just a joke?
