Trapped in a disastrous world

What if Harry Potter actually died. Voldemort would rule the wizarding world. There would be no one there to stop him. Until Ron found the resurrection stone...

6. An shocking surprise

Ron woke up in the early hours of the morning in the Gryffindor common room. It was Christmas soon so he would be going home with his girlfriend, Hermione to spend the holidays there. Ron had hoped that despite the morbid feeling at Hogwarts, at christmas it would lighten up a bit.

Walking into the hall, he saw that he was partly correct- a single large christmas tree stood proudly in the corner beside Professor Flitwick's chair and he seemed to seem lost beside the towering Christmas tree because of his height. It made Ron smile slightly and Hermione noticed.

"What's so funny?" She asked, looking amused herself and Ron's expression.

"Nothing, just Flitwick's appearance beside the tree." Despite that it wasn't very funny, they needed to laugh or at least smile once in a while but at Hogwarts' state during the following years, it seemed near impossible.

"Come on, Ron. Let's go get breakfast." Said Hermione and she sat down on the Gryffindor table next to Ginny. The food was still delicious because the house elves worked just as hard as they had ever done. Piles of eggs, bacon, sausages and toast lay before them and Ron tucked in straight in on three sausages and pumpkin juice. Hermione too, took a piece of toast but unlike Ron's messy eating, she delicately took small nibbles.

"Isn't it good to know that we will be going home tomorrow, Ron?" But she didn't get an answer because Ron's mouth was too full of food. "Ronald Weasley!"

Ron choked, swallowed and then answered, "Yeah. Do you think mum and dad is ok?"

"Yeah, they'll be fine, Ron. Remember there are so many protection charms around the house and aurors who re-set up the Order of the Phoenix are surrounding the house. They'll be fine, trust me." Said Ginny who had overheard their conversation.

Ron seemed reassured because he nodded and went back to his plate of food.

In the early hours of the next morning, Ron, Ginny and Hermione were all set to go back to the burrow. They would go back to Kings Cross station and Mrs Weasley would meet them there with Kingsley Shacklebolt.

The train journey seemed to last for the whole day and they were glad when the platform was in sight and Mrs Weasley was stood right at the front, her neck craning to get a glimpse of her children.

"My babies!" Cried Mrs Weasley, once they were off the off the platform and they all embraced into a tight hug. "How are you all? Hermione? Has everything been ok?"

"It's been fine Mrs Weasley? What about at the burrow?"

"We've had a few death eater who have tried to get inside bit they didn't have much luck as they were destroyed by the protection charm before the aurors could reach them. I guess it gave us a little reassurance that we were safe."

"We best get going back before it is dark," added Kingsley. They all agreed and they were transported by a muggle car.

"Is Mr Weasley and George at home?" Asked Hermione.

"Yes, dear. They decided to stay at home." Replied Mrs Weasley.

After another 40 minutes of travelling, they all arrived home but to find no aurors inside the protection charm. Mrs Weasley rushed inside to find George on the floor, shaking like crazy and unsuccessfully attempting to heal a bloody Mr Weasley who was lying on the floor in a pool of blood...
