11. Secrets and Surprises

Ella's P.O.V

"What are we ever gonna do with these children?" Harry asked Louis and me and El giggled.

"I know what we could do," Louis replied and I could almost hear his smirk.

All of a sudden, I felt more weight being added to my back and I knew that the two boys had jumped on us. I now had both of them and El resting on my back and I was beginning to ache and get annoyed; after asking them to move a few times, I managed to wiggle and the boys, who were still worn out from running around and being idiots, fell off my back with ease. They groaned when they hit the floor and I smiled sheepishly, fumbling to stand up after El slipped away. Just as I steadied myself on two feet, a hand wrapped around my foot and I wobbled, falling on Harry.

"Ugh, I hate alcohol," I groaned, when his hand moved to stop my head from hitting the ground.

"It wasn't me, it was Louis," He surrendered when I looked at him quizzically.

He was proved telling the truth as I twisted my head in Louis' direction and he shrugged and grinned.

"Harry, Louis! You have one minute to get your arses on stage," Paul shouted.

Harry stood up then held his hand out to pull me up, pulling my face to his quickly the second I was stood firmly again. I kissed him back but pulled away quickly, rolling my eyes.

"Go get dressed, I'll go see you after the show," I laughed and he began walking away.

I walked over to the other girls and looked at them.

"Please can we go watch the rest of the show?" I almost begged, "I've drunk lots of water and I promise I'm not drunk anymore."

"Come on then," Danielle smiled and the four of us walked back out to our seats, careful not to be spotted by anyone.

We made it to our seats just as the boys came back onto the stage, Little White Lies beginning to play. I lifted my phone up in between my hands and just as I was about to click the camera button, Harry turned in my direction and pulled a face as I captured the moment smugly. I was about to put my phone into my pocket when my hand was suddenly yanked in another direction.

"Oh my god, why didn't you tell me?" El squealed, jumping up and down excitably.

I just looked at her in shock, mine and Harry's little secret now not so secret.

"Shh, don't tell anyone," I quickly spoke under my breath.

"It's so pretty," She admired, twisting my hand in all different directions, "Can I look at it properly?"

I sighed and nodded, reluctantly slipping it off my finger slowly, holding it so that I didn't drop it and lose it.

"Eleanor Calder, you drop this and you're dead," I warned before passing the ring over.

I looked around to make sure that Laura and Danielle were looking elsewhere before turning my attention back onto the boys on stage, occasionally pulling my phone out and taking pictures for a few minutes while I waited for El to be done.

"Aw, that's so sweet," She cooed and I frowned, looking down at her.

"What is?" I asked and she showed me the inside of the ring.

'H+E'. I smiled and slipped the ring back on my finger, moving my eyes to the stage and finding Harry. Him and Niall were parading around the stage, their arms slung over each others shoulders as they attempted to dance. It was times like these that made me really appreciate him in every way and why I fell in love with him the first time. The rest of the concert continued and I grew impatient, getting annoyed with the fact I couldn't reach out and touch Harry and tell him he amazing he is - because even that word doesn't cover what he is. Soon enough, me and the girls were making our way backstage to greet the boys so we could all leave and go home. When Harry walked into the room, I ran over to him and just as I was about to wrap my arms around him, I took a couple of steps back, my nose scrunching up. He laughed and raised his eyebrows.

"You're all sweaty," I told him.

"Well, I have just been running around for two hours," He rolled his eyes.

"Put some clothes on, Liam wants to leave soon," I quickly push him in the direction of the changing area, rubbing my hands after.

Twenty minutes later, we were in the car with Liam and Danielle on our way home; we'd decided to let them repay the favour for when we had to act like their personal taxi drivers. I felt sort of guilty for not telling my sister about me and Harry being engaged because she made sure I was the first person she told. My thoughts of that were soon forgotten when Liam pulled the car up and me and Harry climbed out.

"Thanks, I'll see you tomorrow for shopping then, yeah?" I looked at my sister as she gave me a quick hug.

"Yeah, I'll get Liam to drop me off when him and Harry go on the ellen show," She smiled.

"No, I'll come pick you up before then at about ten. We need to be there at the interview," I told her.

"Why do we need to be there?" She frowned in confusion.

I tapped my nose and smirked before walking away with Harry. When we got into the elevator, Harry turned to me acting all serious.

"El found out..." I bit my lip.

He laughed. "I know, she told me. I have an idea how to tell everyone but we're gonna do it tonight."

I raised my eyebrows and he explained his idea; it was good enough but I was worried that all the fans would flip and so would management. I shushed Harry when I saw Gemma asleep on the sofa, Tom in one arm and Emily in the other. We moved quietly into our bedroom and I pulled my phone out of my pocket, slipping out of my coat. The two of us stood in front of the mirror and Harry smirked, lifting my hand up so the ring looked obvious. I positioned the camera on my phone so that you could see the reflection of me and Harry before clicking the button. After I'd sent Harry the photo, I went on my instagram and we both clicked post at the same time. Almost immediately, the whole of instagram blew up, with people everywhere talking about our engagement - it was mostly positive but there was always, out of every fifteen or so, one comment that was sending hate and disrespecting our relationship. A few minutes went by after the post and my sister was ringing me.

"Oh my god! Why didn't you tell me?" She shouted excitedly down the phone.

"It was a surprise," I laughed, "And we're looking for bridesmaid dresses for you and the girls tomorrow."

"I can't wait! Aww, you two are so perfect together," She gushed, making me giggle.

"That's why I said yes!"

"Anyway, we can talk more tomorrow but me and Liam are in the middle of eating. I only called to say congratulations so I've gotta go."

"Okay, thanks. Bye."

"Bye," She ended the call and I looked over at Harry.

He was on the phone too and I could slightly hear the shouts from the boys teasing him and I smiled before standing up off the bed and walking into the lounge. Gemma was awake and now sat up, squinting her eyes from the harsh light.

"You're getting straight to it," El laughed when we picked her up the next morning.

"It's been a couple of months and we both agreed that we're just going to go straight ahead and do it rather than waiting round for ages," I answered.

"So, you've thought of colours?" Danielle asked.

"We're thinking of blue and white, keeping my dress quite traditional," I replied.

"Knowing how organised you and Harry are, I'm guessing that you've already got the dress you want," El looked over at me.

I nodded and opened up my phone, showing her the picture.

"It's so pretty," El spoke, passing my phone to Danielle as I began driving to Niall's flat, where Laura had told me to pick  her up from.

"It's the exact thing I'd expect you to choose as well," Danielle spoke and I smiled at her through the rear-view mirror.

"Think you two can help me get everything ready by the 27th of May?" I asked.

"Of 2014?" El looked at me in astonishment, "You mean like in five months?!"

"Well, it's the day two years after we met so it really means something," I explained, "We'd always wanted it that day and we weren't prepared to wait another whole year to finally be married."

"You really are getting straight to it, though," Danielle laughed.

"I know," I grinned, "I'm going to get Laura, you guys wait here."

They passed me back my phone and I walked into the block of flats, taking the stairs as it was only on the second floor and the lift was in use. Besides, I could use the excersize after Gemma made me and Harry a surprise fry-up for breakfast. When I reached Niall's flat, I knocked on the door and Niall answered in just his boxers.

"Jeez, Niall, put some clothes on," I teased.

"I just woke up," He rolled his eyes.

"Is Laura ready?" I asked.

"I'm here," She popped her head over Niall's shoulder and pulled on her other boot, "Now, girly, you have some explaining to do for yourselves."

"It was a surprise and we would've waited longer but El found out so it was only fair," I defended myself.

"I understand. Shall we go?" Laura asked.

"Yeah, come on."

"I'll meet you down at the interview," She told Niall and pressed a light kiss to his cheek.

"Have fun. But not too much," Niall laughed and closed the door behind us as we walked out.

When we reached the car, we both got in and I pulled out of the parking spot I was in and began driving to the wedding shops. We looked around the store and picked out our three favourites, each of the girls trying on a different one before we all agreed on one. Danielle came out first wearing a floor-length turquoise blue strapless dress with a line of diamonds running across the top of the dress. Laura came out next in a thigh-length dress, a few shades lighter than Danielle's, and it was strapless too but the diamonds covered the whole top half before the skirt flowed down. El's one had always been my favourite from the start but it was quite different to the other two - it was strapless and a couple of lighter shades of blue than Danielle's, with flowers trailing down half of the top of the dress each of them having a diamond in the middle. At her waist, a line of blue and white diamonds wrapped their way around the whole way around before the dress pooled out and stopped at her feet. She'd slipped into the pair of shoes we'd chosen, a pair of white platform heels but you could still only see the very bottom of them. She looked in the mirror and a smile spread across her face and I knew that I must've looked the same.

"That's the one," I mumbled, looking back and forth between the photo I had of my dress and El.

"I agree," Danielle spoke and the other two nodded.

"You all look lovely," A lady that worked in the shop walked over to us and smiled, "Have you decided on which one yet?"

"The one on the end," I answered, pointing over to El.

"Would you like to buy now?" She asked.

"Yes, please," I nodded.

We got the right sizes in the dresses and shoes for the girls and then I handed the lady my card, typing in my pin as the girls gathered up the bags. Everything was put into the car boot as we all climbed into the car as I pulled my phone out to text Harry quickly.

To: SexyH

On our way down now, do you went me to get you and the boys anything from Starbucks?xxxx

From: SexyH

Okay, babe, I'll see you in a bit then. And yeah, we'll just have the usual xxxx

I drove to Starbucks and parked up before me and Danielle got out the car and walked inside.

"The usual for Styles."

The man nodded and moved around, placing drinks into holders as he went along. Once we'd been given all the drinks, the two of us carried them back to the car and we headed to the studio where the interview was being held. Paul lead the way and we met the boys who were sitting on a bunch of couches backstage. I sat on Harry's lap and passed him a drink, leaning back and taking a gulp of my own.

"Thanks, babe," He mumbled, drinking it quickly.

"You have a little bit of whipped cream on your nose," I giggled.

He tried to wipe it off with the back of his hand but failed. "Where is it?"
"Let me do it," I laughed and kissed the tip of his nose, which removed the cream.

Before I could pull away, he moved my face so that my lips were now pressed against his and smirked. I began to kiss back but then remembered where we were and pulled away, sitting bolt upright and looking around to make sure the paparazzi hadn't managed to take a picture. My phone started to ring in my pocket and I stood up, walking over to a quiet corner of the room, answering the call.

“Ella? I need a favour,” Perrie spoke down the phone.

“Um, yeah, sure,” I answered.

“Can you come pick me up from the airport now please?” She asked.

“What do you mean? I thought you were on tour for another couple of months,” I frowned, “I’ll get Zayn-“

“No, don’t get Zayn. It’s a surprise,” She quickly cut me off.

“Ok, I’ll go now. I’m probably only about ten minutes away,” I informed and hung up, walking over to Harry had been sitting and grabbing my coat that had been strewn across the sofa
After I’d shrugged my shoulders into the coat, I walked around to find Harry and finally saw him getting changed.

“I need to give George and the others to the airport but I’ll be back soon,” I smiled and kissed him on the cheek.

“See you in a bit,” He replied, pulling his shirt over his head.

“I’d hurry up if I were you. Paul’s looking for you and he doesn’t look very happy,” I teased and he rolled his eyes.

“Harry!” A voice shouted from on the other side of the door.

“Told you,” I laughed and walked out of the room, passing Paul on the way out the building.

I climbed into the car and turned on the radio, beginning to flip through the stations. After finding nothing decent playing, I plugged my phone into the connector and shuffled my music, starting the car up and pulling out of the car park. I drove to the airport and Perrie was waiting for me somewhere quiet and it was easy for her to climb in the car so we could drive off again.

“So, how was the tour?” I asked.

“It was good, I miss home though,” She smiled.

“Where am I taking you then?”

“Well, I was wondering if I could stay at yours for a couple of hours. I wanted to properly surprise Zayn,” She grinned.

“That’s fine. It’s a bit messy and there’s boxes everywhere as we’re moving in to the new house tomorrow so you’ll just have to be careful not to fall over every two seconds; I already made that mistake,” I continued, “And Gemma’s there, too.”

“Go in the spare bedroom,” I pushed Perrie in the direction of the room when there was a knock at the door.

I answered it and Harry and the rest of the boys were waiting there. I moved out of their way and they walked through all sitting down on the sofas. I quickly motioned for Gemma to keep quiet about Perrie being here and she nodded discreetly. Emily ran over to me and lifted her arms in the air. Well, it was sort of like running but with her short legs and not having any co-ordination it looked more like drunken walking. I laughed and lifted her into my arms, her dimpled smile appeared on her face while she wrapped her arms around me.

"Have you only just noticed my presence after two hours of me being home?" I raised my eyebrows and she giggled, pretending to act like she knew what I was saying to her.

She patted her stomach and I laughed, bringing her to the kitchen with me. I got some pancake mixture out of the cupboards and Emily's face became brighter.

"Does anybody else want pancakes?" I called out to the living room and everyone said yes.

I began to make the pancakes, turning around when I felt someone else's presence in the room. Louis was standing there with a huge grin on his face and I frowned, getting the feeling he was up to something.

"Louis, what have you done?" I asked, flipping the pan I was holding slightly.

"Nothing," he answered before mumbling under his breath, "...yet."

"I heard that," I rolled my eyes.

"Hello, you. Shall we go play some football outside, yeah?" Louis cooed, lifting Emily up and spinning her around as she giggled.

"She can't pl-"

"It'll be fine, trust me," He turned around to look back at me when he was walking out fo the room before making his way out in the garden.

I watched them from the kitchen window, still keeping an eye on the pancakes. They came back inside just before the pancakes were ready and I took a couple of tubs of ice cream out of the freezer.

"She's so clumsy," Louis laughed, wrapping his arms around her so that they managed to rest on his own, "She's definitely your child."

"I'm perfectly co-ordinated, thank you very much. I think you left out the fact that she's also only one."

"I'm not letting you go until I get my kiss," Harry mumbled, wrapping his arms around me and nuzzling his face into my neck.

"Harry, I have to go," I whined, attempting to pry his arms off of me.

"Too bad, so sad," He chuckled, placing kisses all over my face.

I sighed and leaned down to press a gentle kiss to his lips. "Now can I get up?"

He nodded, satisfied with himself, and rolled back over in bed, somehow falling asleep almost immediately. I walked out over to my chair where I'd left out some clothes and basic toiletries because everything else had been packed up. I pulled on the pair of tight sweats and tank top, throwing on the hoodie of Harry's I'd stolen from him over the top. Running a brush over my hair, I pulled on a pair of socks before walking into Emily's room, popping my head round the door to see that she was still asleep. After I decided to let her sleep for a bit longer so I could enjoy the peace, I walked into the kitchen and putting a bagel in the toaster. I buttered it when it was finished before putting it on a plate and taking a bite of one of the halves, moving back towards mine and Harry's room.

"Haz, get up," I sat on the bed next to him and he muttered something, rolling over to face me.

"Food," He mumbled and grabbed the other half of the bagel and ate some.

I took the TV remote in my hands and put whatever film was in there from when we'd last had a movie night. Harry's head fell onto my stomach and I knew that he would fall asleep if I didn't stop him soon.

"Don't go to sleep, the movers' van will be here soon," I looked down at him.

"But I had a really shit sleep last night," He replied, "Just an hour? We don't need a movers' van anyway, we'll just get Paul to help us. It's only boxes."

Author's message:

Sorry this chapter took so long, I was really stuck for ideas but here it finally is!

In the story it's only January and Harry and Ella 'met' in 2012 rather than the reality of it being 2013. And I know pancake day was a while ago now but when I wrote it that was what day it was.

Also, for the next book I need a new girlfriend for Niall so if anybody wants to be his girlfriend, just comment and I'll give you the questions you need to answer :).
