Danny and Owen. Two young lovers. Banned from seeing each other by disapproving parents. They do everything they can to stay together. But their parents are onto them.

6. Plan-Owen

I woke up abruptly as my phone buzzes on the floor. Groggily I rubbed my eyes and looked at my phone. It was a text from Danny. Why is she up at half midnight? I shook the sleep from my head. I stared bewildered at the text she'd sent me.

my mum's been a bitch bout this and from your texts sounds like yours has too. Can't stand not seeing you. We have to run away. If not we won't see each other. We haven't been able to escape the house without them there. Meet me at our place. I know where we can go.

My head buzzed with the things Danny just said. I didn't know if I wanted to leave. Yeah my parents had over reacted about this but I couldn't leave Sophie and Peter or my home. Could I? The gears in my brain whirred trying to think what to do. I knew Danny would never forgive me if I at least didn't meet her. I jumped out of bed and got dressed into warm clothes before packing a bag full of clothes and possessions and a rucksack of other stuff. I crept down the stairs, grabbed the secret stash of money and house key and stepped into the night air.

As I walked towards our  secret place I thought of all the flaws in our plan. Our plan that I didn't really know. This was insane. Leaving home. I wondered if it was going to end like Romeo and Juliet. If we were both going to die because we'd acted too rash too soon.

It was freezing. Rain slid down my neck like icy fingers trying to claw at my back. Wind blew the rain into my face like needles stinging my eyes. This idea was seeming worse and worse but I had to see Danny. Even if we completely gave up on the plan I had to see her.

After five minutes our place came into view. I could see Danny with her bag searching for me. I waved at her. She waved back. I smiled to myself and speed walked the rest of the way. We stood in a small wood in a part where the trees had grown over into a sort of dome shape. No one really knew about it because it was so far from the path. The sky had turned an ashen grey and the rain eased up.

"Hey trouble" Danny leapt into my arms and I smiled dropping my bag and spinning round in a circle.

"Hey you" she murmured into my ear.

"So what's this amazing plan of yours?" I wasn't sure how serious I was but at the moment I was just glad to see her and hear her voice.

"We're gonna get a train to London, find a place to stay, get a job etc. I could find a job as a waitress or something for a while and you could look for a job in drama or something. It'll be great. The life we planned. Nothing can go wrong."

I could see many things that could go wrong. This was a really bad idea. Everything inside me told me to go back but I didn't want to go back. Have every step watched by my parents. Told who I can and can't love. This idea meant freedom. A new start. Even if just for a little while. I nodded. Danny grinned. She said we should head off towards the train station to get aaa far away as possible. We picked up our stuff and left at a brisk walk to the train station.
