10. Work

I woke up and got ready to school. This thing of having someone come and wake me up, is really weird, one day I might just knock-out the person.

Tyler and I went to school, and just like the first day, a bunch of people attempted to speak with me, but left as soon as I replied with sarcasm. So that left me with no friends. Tyler was a year older, meaning that he wasn’t in any of my classes.

I walked into homeroom and sat at the far end corner, like the day before. I grabbed my notebook and start writing down the things that I need to get done for today. Mr. Right wants for me to send him a complete report on what I found on my father’s laptop, and also a draft about the projects he was working on.

“Didn’t do your math homework?” A boy asked as he sat next to me.

“Did we even have math homework?” I replied closing the notebook.

“I don’t know.” He replied. “I’m Adam.”

“Phyre.” I replied.

“Yeah, I heard about you.” Adam said.

“From where? The rumors from school?” I questioned.

“No.” He answered. “A better source.”

“I find this incredibly useless.” I said to Michael as he entered my dad’s old office.

“Why?” Michael asked.

“Because, I don’t find a point or reason on why I should be doing a full report on my father’s work, when LSA has everything in their system.” I replied and Michael gave me a look. “Oh please, like if you didn’t think I would hack in all the LSA system to figure out stuff.”

“I guessed, but I never knew you actually did it.” Michael replied.

“Well I did.” I replied. “Though, I know that they don’t have any copy of my fathers work. Do you know that?”

“You are not old enough to know.” Michael replied and left the room.

I finished the report and sent it over to Mr. Right, I was starting to type the draft about the projects my father was working in, when Adam appeared out of nowhere inside the office.

“Do I have a stalker?” I asked as I locked my laptop.

“No.” Adam replied. “But I see that you don’t trust me.”

“I don’t trust people.” I replied. “Don’t feel flattered.”

“I heard about you via work.” Adam replied. “I used to help your father with his projects.”

“Ok.” I said.

“You have a brilliant mind Phyre.” Adam said coming closer. “Would you let me study it?”

“Is this your way to get a girl?” I asked raising an eyebrow.

“Is it working?” Adam asked.

“Not even close.” I replied. “Now, I have work to do.”

“I’ll see you at school I suppose.” Adam smiled.

I simply rolled my eyes and continued working. I have a feeling, that I will be seeing more about him...
