27. The Mother?

As much as I hate to admit it, Mariana is a great gal, she’s actually really nice and seems to accept my way of being. We had a sweet and normal breakfast where I got to know more about her and what she did with her life. She is a teacher in the high school I am supposed to attend now. Cool huh?

“After you get ready, we are going to school and get you signed up okay.” Mariana said.

“Sure.” I replied as I helped clear the table. “What’s the lie going to be?”

“After the kidnap attempt, you asked Mr. Right to let you go back.” Mariana said. “And we got you.”

“OK.” I replied. “I’m headed to the shower.”

“Sure.” Mariana replied. “Don’t take too long.”

I nodded and walked over to my room. This was going to be an interesting life.

-----

We climbed out of the car and headed towards the green building in front of me. I followed Mariana as we entered the empty hallways, where the lockers were. Apparently she had a free week and she was going to use it to help me around.

“I’m going to speak with principal and then I’ll call you in okay.” Mariana said.

“Sure.” I said and sat on the chairs outside the office.

“Behave.” She joked and walked inside the office.

I rolled my eyes as I sank on the seat. I studied the place as I waited to be called. The hallway where I was had cameras, there were five other doors on the wall from me, and two others on the wall behind me. There was one emergency exit at the end of the hallway and there was a bell in the middle.

It seemed like a normal high-school, just like the one back home. If I thought of it, I could pretty much be average here, not getting too much of attention. I could totally do it.

“Come on Phyre.” Mariana said poking her head out.

“Going.” I replied as I walked to the office.

The principle was a bald man with a black beard... He wore glasses and was shorter than Mariana, which was pretty short, cause she is shorter than me.

“Phyre Gunner.” The principle said.

“Sir.” I replied.

“Pleasure to meet you.” The principle smiled. “Mariana here told me about your life, quite a strong girl.” I nodded at him with a weird smile. “I also saw your grades, and Phyre, you are a great student and we would love to have you here.”

“Thanks.” I said. “It means a lot.”

The principle said some other things about the school and how I was supposed to start next week, and such.

Guess normal life comes?
