Phyre Gunner.

Prologue...

Boom!

The gun fired and the officer was dead. I moved along the building looking for a specific room. I was guiding my team, first turn to the left, second turn to the right, third door on your left. I slowly approached my hand to the doorknob, twisting opening the room. Preparing my gun and fired to the other security guards. I walked to my objective and when I was about to open it...

“Phyre Gunner! Come downstairs right this instant! You better have a good explanation for this letter I got from your school!” My mom shouted.

Awesome. My mom is back from work.

I paused my video game, stood up from the bean bag and walked downstairs, only finding my mother with a letter on her hand, and a very mad look on her face.

I took in a deep breath. “Hello dear mother. Did you have a good day? How was work?” I asked pretending to be the perfect daughter that I’ve never been.

“Phyre.” My mom warned and I sighed. “What is this?”

“I suppose that is a letter from my school due to the emblem on the corner.” I shrugged.

“Don’t play smart with me Phyre.” She snapped.  “Why did a letter from your school came in today? Report cards are due next week and it’s not like you got a scholarship or something.” My mom rolled her eyes. “Care to explain why does it says: ‘Your daughter gets expelled the next time she gets a suspension.’”

“Well, it is pretty clear there mother. What don’t you understand?” I questioned. “I’m expelled from the school next time I get a suspension, which I get every five detentions, from which I have three already.”

“I understand that perfectly Phyre! What I don’t understand is why I received this letter when you told me you would play nice.” My dear mother spat. “What did you do?”

I rolled my eyes and let out a sigh. “I might have made a small explosion in Chemistry.”

“How small?” My mom stared at me with a repulsed look.

“Small enough to close the whole building.” I winced.

“PHYRE!” My mom exploded. “Why! Why did you do it? Why do you do this?”

“So?” I questioned obviously ignoring her other question. “What’s my punishment?”

She pinched the bridge of her nose. “It’ll be no surfing for the rest of the week, and along the way I’ll come up with something better.” My mother frowned.

“Noted.” I answered walking back to the stairs.

“Phyre,” My mother spoke hopeless. “You have all my attention. There’s no need for you to make bad things so that I realize that you are suffering.”

I frowned confused. “Who says I’m suffering or trying to call your attention?”

“I know you miss your dad honey. I know it is tough on you more than in any other person; but baby, think about it. Try to make him proud.” I shook my head in disbelief. She has no idea what she is talking about.

“Who says I’m not making him proud?” I questioned before walking back to my room.

I slammed my door shut and threw myself on my messy bed. My mother doesn’t really understand that I’m not trying to catch her attention. That is one of the things that I don’t need, I don’t need attention, I need my freedom.
