39. OK?

I was confused. Lost. I didn’t even understand how on earth that could be possible, like no, just no. There was no way that I could be genetically mutated, it made no sense, not at all. My father wouldn’t have let me be right? I don’t even remember being so.

“Bullshit.” I spoke. “That’s pure bullshit. I don’t remember being experimented on.”

“That’s because it was when you were on your momma’s belly.” Adam replied.

“My mom would never let that happen.” I recalled. “She didn’t even liked that fact that my father was out doing his stuff. She would have not let it happen.”

“Your real mother Phyre.” Adam sighed. “Your real mother let it, and she died on the process, so your father took you in.” I frowned confused. “Your real mother, was the identical twin of your so-called-mother.”

My mouth dropped open. Well this was new to me. “Still, why would you want me?”

“I already told you why.” Adam ran his finger through his hair. “And I will get you.”

“Over my dead body asshole.” I prepared myself to fight.

“If you insist.” Adam said pointing two guns at me.

I focused on the fact that I had my knife on my back. I was not going to die, when I had come so far to figure shit out. I wasn’t going to let Adam get to me. I wasn’t going to let ALLA live.

I calculated all my moves and in the right time, I threw my knife, not aiming at Adam, but at his hand so that he could drop a gun. As I did it he fired the guns, but I ducked them and grabbed a gun from him.

We were now pointing a gun towards each other. I was not going to shoot. I needed backup, because I was more than sure that he had his backup somewhere around the house. I bit my lip and breathed, I had to come up with another plan.

I studied that place and realized that there was a chandelier right above where Adam stood, if I could bring it down, it would give me time to go back to the room and call for backup.

I studied Adam one more time before lifting my gun and firing at the chandelier, it broke and fell right on top of Adam, I knew he wasn’t dead, but this was going to let me call for backup. I ran back to Brad’s room only to find him pointing a gun at my chest.

“What the fuck?” I questioned. “Brad what the fuck?”

“My father needs you Phyre.” Brad said. “That’s why I became your friend.”

“Wow, I so not expected that.” I said. “Either way, you let me get to my phone or I kill you.”

“Neither is going to happen.” Brad spoke.

“One is happening.” I said. “And I am getting my phone.” I added shooting towards his leg.

Brad shouted out in pain and I ran to kick the gun out his hand and grabbed my phone. “You should have let me get my phone Brad.” I sighed. “Now, bye.” I smirked.

“You‘re not going to leave this place Phyre.” Brad said.

“Who said that I was leaving?” I questioned. “I’m going to kill your dad.” I winked and ran off.

I called in to my backup and I stared at the floor, Adam was gone, but he was sure as hell to come back for me.
